Still bench testing at the moment and am just going through the software and Transmitter setup.

I am using a Jeti DS16 and have just set up the bank switching as per the instructions on a previous thread.

Just noticed that with the flight mode switch in my normal position I do not have any rudder servo movement.
If you have the three way switch in the middle position (idle1) and also the furthest forward position (idle2) you do have the servo moving when the TX is operated.

Also on the TX diagnostic tab for the gyro gain I am seeing a value of over 120% when the flight model switch is in normal position.
Does this need reducing and if so how?

Must have missed something here somewhere I think.
Any ideas?

Yes, value of 120% is extremely high. It should not exceed 100%.

This can be configured in your transmitter in Gyro Gain settings.

I did try to reduce this earlier but ended up with the tail servo rapidly twitching as I lowered the value.

So I need to get -100, 0 , 100 on the gyro tab as well?

Do you think that this is causing the problem then?

Still confused regarding the Gyro gain and setup.

I have entered the Gyro Settings tab and removed the values entered previously (70%, 65%, 60%) when setting up the bank switching and reset back to -100 ,0, 100 for the three switch positions.

Now after adjusting the servo endpoints for Gyro Sensitivity channel I now have 100%N, 0%N and 100%HL displayed in the Spirit software tab on the PC.

This only gives me servo end points settings in the TX on the gain channel of 28% and -27% to get the -100% and +100% in the software. Does this sound right?

Then re-entering the 70% (normal) 65% (idle1) and 60% (idle2) servo gain on the flight mode switch gives me 88%HL, 22%HL and 43%N in the software. Again does this look right?

The tail servo does now move in all flight modes at this.

How also do I adjust gyro gain? Is this only by using the gyro settings screen in the TX ?

There is no setting available for rudder gain in the sensor tab on the Spirit unit adjustment on the TX and the rudder gain dial is greyed out on the PC software.

First from all, you have to know, if you are configuring Gyro Gain in the transmitter or in the software.
You can configure Gyro Gain in the software only in case that Gyro Gain function is not assigned in Channels window.

It should be completely separated from banks when configured in the transmitter. But it depends on your settings too.
With JETI there are lot of possibilities to set it, normally you just set Gain to some switch or flight mode.
For Normal/Rate mode Gyro Gain must be negative.

OK I would like to configure the gyro gain from the DS16 so obviously my rudder gain in the software will be greyed out.No problem with this.

Will I now be able to only adjust this gain from the Gyro settings screen in the transmitter. It's can't be done from the Spirit menu that I now have on the TX?

So the gyro gain adjustment is on the 3 position flightmode switch and uses the gyro settings menu to adjust.

Are those recommended values of 70%, 65% and 60% setup in the first part of the gyro settings screen not gyro gain values?

Why in idle2 am I seeing 43% and Normal gyro mode on the software bar? This can't be right surely for flying with the highest headspeed and 3D pitch setup.

Sorry for the basic questions.Only used to flying with a V Bar and JR radio at the moment.

I seemed to have spent so many hours trying to search the forums to try make sure that I going this the right way.

Still not sure if this is right.

I have made sure that am getting -100, 0 and +100 in the gyro tab of the software using the channel end points.
Now I have adjusted the gyro gain in the DS16 to give me 70%,65% and 60% for the flight modes which give me all 'HL' after the value.
Before I was putting the 70%,65% and 60% into the transmitter.

Problem here is the gain values in the gyro menu don't look right.See attached screen shots.

Maybe this is correct but it still leaves me wondering about the adjustment of the gyro gains from the transmitter when these values don't seem to look anything like the gains shown in the software.

Have I done this correctly?

It should work fine until you see correct values in the software - diagnostic tab.
But it is really strange that it does not correspond.

Actually it should work nearly out of the box with Jeti settings.

Please check this thread:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=653

You can see settings for banks and the rescue there.

I checked through this thread first of all and entered the exact values in the transmiter.

When I did I ended up with the 88%HL, 22%HL and 43%N in the software which really did not look right.

Any other ideas here what is wrong?
