The manual states:
"Max. Head Speed
Configure max. head speed that should be achieved with 100% throttle curve.
For example: If you know that you won't exceed 2500 RPM then you can set
the value to 2500."

and then in 'Fine Tuning'...
"Firstly you have to finish basic setup including Max. Head Speed.
Throttle curve in the transmitter must be FLAT. We recommend to set the
throttle curve for example to flat 70%, 80% or 90%."

I've used VBAR external governor for years with great success and always used 100% throttle curves and banks with different headspeeds. If I want my headspeed to be 2000, I set max to 2000 and use 100% throttle curve.

The manual recommendations in 'Fine Tuning' on using 70,80 and 90% flat throttle curves suggests that using 100% curve is not optimal with the Spirit governor function?

I want the absolute best governor performance possible. My max headspeed is my target headspeed that I will use the most. I determined this using MrMel's headspeed calc and selecting external governor.

Assuming that my target headspeed is optimal for my gearing, blades, motor, packs, etc., is a 100% throttle curve a detriment in any way to performance?
*headroom for governor performance is built into my target headspeed.

Thanks,
Jay

It will work without any problem if there is headroom you have described.

how can i know headroom and max hs?
i know max hs from n. of cells kv motor and gear ratio.
is this correct?
with this date i have eg 3000hs
max hs on spirit gov must be 3000 or the max hs i want run?
thanks

Spirit will multiply your throttle curve with the max hs you input, so if 3000 is the absolute max your system can deliver then to create some headroom you will need to enter a lower max hs in Spirit or leave it at 3000 and reduce you throttle curve. Two ways to do it.

It will work fine even if your Max. Head Speed is 3000 RPM and you will set 100% throttle curve.
Until head speed is not at the limit of your motor/helicopter (there is still headroom) then it will work fine.
