A couple of guys at the field today were very enthusiastic about their latest VBar update: 'Anti-Gravity Mode'. It sounded like a joke (!) but in discussion I realised it is gyro stabilisation for pitch, and they said it improved the feel of the heli in many respects. I can see this would help for (e.g.) small helis which suffer in gusty conditions with 'balooning' where in the hover the heli rises in a gust and falls when the wind drops. Stabilisation for un-commanded collective pitch movement would seem to be helpful, assuming it can be adjusted for gain. I apologise if this has been discussed elsewhere, but I would think (as per the VBar product) it could be introduced in an update, and selected on/off as desired. Thoughts? Cheers, Andy |
