The current implementation of rescue applies a high amount of pitch . The reason for that is that the vertical speed is not known and therefore the worst case has to be assumed - that the heli is in a fast downward movement. However the spirit devices with barometric sensor could actually know the vertical speed. If the heli is not in a downward movement, the amount of pitch could be smaller. The heli would not beam up so quick. The mechanical stress would be lower. The risk of boom strikes due to the sudden high pitch would be reduced.
