Tomas,
Would it be possible to have a failsafe option for the Spirit so if it looses link allowing the unit to go to an upright rescue mode with like 0-5% pitch?
Of course the motor will still be completely shut off but if the heli got to upright then had just a slight amount of positive pitch, not enough to hover but just enough to come down a bit slowly and bleed off the headspeed, I think it could have made my crash today even less than it was.
This would be cool to see and something that is not seen on other units!
If the failsafe is activated that means a crash is going to happen no matter what so if the FBL can get the heli upright and slow down the decent or at least bleed off some of the HS it could most certainly help reduce crash costs.
Right now I could program it on a bank and have my failsafe values activate that bank, however, the minimum allowed positive pitch for the rescue is 40%, I think that would be way too much for a failsafe. Maybe allow us to bring that down to 0-5% so we can set up our failsafes to take advantage of this great feature?
Just an idea, didn't know if it would be an option?

You can do so with one bank which can be enabled in failsafe mode. But Rescue can't be configured to less than 40%, because for most helicopters it is too low so with 40% it can be fine.

Yes,
40% collective is too much for fail safe since it will now allow the heli to descend until the blades have stopped spinning and then it will just be a falling rock.
What I plan to do though is use stability mode in the highest parameter on a bank that is activated by failsafes then set my failsafe pitch to 0-5% and it should work perfect.
While It won't be a perfect auto, it should help reduce damage and allow for the skids to take much of the impact as apposed to another part of the heli. If I did this before my Goblin crash I would probably not even have to replace the blades!
