I have read mixed messages about whether I should plug the throttle cable from the ESC into Channel 3 on my Futaba R3008SB receiver and have the single RPM lead to the Spirit when using sbus. Can someone please clarify what goes into the receiver apart from the sbus inverter? Sorry I am new to building my own kits and don't want to fry anything. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello,
you have to decide whether you want to use Governor from your ESC or from the unit. If you are using ESCs governor, then you can connect throttle lead directly to the receiver. Secondary lead from the BEC can be connected to the unit. In this case it should be pretty safe.
You can also connect both leads from the ESC to the receiver and then use s-bus inverter + next spare cable to supply power to the unit by two cables.
If you want to use governor from the unit, then ESC must be connected always to the unit directly. In this case RPM cable must be connected to the unit too. Secondary BEC cable can be connected to the receiver.
So there are at least 3 possible configurations that should all work correctly.
