Post subject: | Help with setting up on 6ch tx |
Ok, my spirit unit is on the way, but i still have not figured out how to set it up on my tx and use all functions i need. I am going to use it with the flysky/turnigy i6 radio (standard rx wiring), and i am trying to figure out how to set it up for specific operation. This radio has a 3-position switch that i would like to use as idleup and bank switching on the same time (every different throttle curve and a different bank setting, or one bank for idleup0 and a second bank for idleup1 and 2). The throttle curves i intend to use will be 75-75-75-75-75, 50-50-50-50-50 and 25-25-25-25-25. I also want to modify one of the remaining 2 position switches of the radio into a push button switch, and assign this new switch to acro rescue/ bailout mode. Meaning that in all 3 idle up/bank positions, i could bailout the heli at a push of a button. You may not be familiar with the specific radio, but you can assign channels 5 and 6 at any switch, and it supports mixing of all channels. I do not intend to control the actual tail gain from the radio, i prefer to have it set in the settings for each bank. Is this possible and how do i do that please? Thank you in advance for all the help |

Hello, welcome in the forum! You can use Banks in the way you described. First you have to unassign Gyro Function in the General tab/Channels. Then you can assign Bank Switching to the Channel 5. After this you can switch Banks with your Gyro channel in the transmitter. In the software you can set different Gyro Gains in the Sensor tab then. At the same time Rescue can be configured to for example Bank 2 - to activate it Gyro Gain in the Sensor tab must be negative (and Rescue mode must be configured in the Stabi tab). With this setup it should work fine. |

Thank you for the welcoming. So, you are telling me there is no way to assign banks together with idle-ups, on the same switch. And then use a separate switch for rescue, as in throttle-hold? I mean for me, and I think for many others that would be ideal. What if I used a y-harness on the throttle channel of the rx and connect it to the gain channel of the spirit? That could switch all three banks together with the 3 flight modes, specifically for 25%, 50%, 80% flat throttle curves, right? |

No, actually it is possible without any problem. But this is only the matter of your transmitter. If it is possible in the transmitter, then it will work. You only have to set different Gyro Gains (that is used for Bank Switching) for each flight mode. Gyro gains should be configured to -100%, 0%, 100% to switch between banks. |

Ok, I get it. But how could I assign an independent switch for the bailout feature, to be able to use it in all flight modes? I am sorry for troubling you but I read the manual over and over again, and I cannot find the way. It only works if you assign a whole bank just for that? |

If you are using Bank Switching and only 6ch, then the whole bank must be used for the rescue. So what you have to do is to set your transmitter so it can switch to this bank, when some switch is pressed. That mean only changing Gyro Gain to some value. This can be done by either mix, separate flight mode or directly function for changing Gyro Gain. So you will need to find what your transmitter is supporting. |
