Post subject: | Nitro Throttle SetUp - with governor |
Trying to setup the throttle on my Nitro and have a few questions. I have 0 - 100 set up correctly on the servo channel with diagnostics showing the bar going up when full throttle is applied. This does not actually give me a full throttle range is it OK to go above the 100% to get full movement of the throttle servo? The servo is also going the wrong way with these software settings giving full throttle with stick fully down. Where should this be reversed? On the transmitter or with the tab in the governor settings? |

So basically once you have adjusted endpoints/servo direction on the transmitter to get the bar on the diagnostics tab showing 0 and 100 in the upward direction you then leave the transmitter alone? OK with the servo reverse tab - now sorted. Regarding the travel range of the servo. Are the tabs in the governor menu there to adjust the movement / range of the servo with out changing the servo arm? Or is this for something else? |

So basically once you have adjusted endpoints/servo direction on the transmitter to get the bar on the diagnostics tab showing 0 and 100 in the upward direction you then leave the transmitter alone? Pretty much, except for what I'll explain below OK with the servo reverse tab - now sorted. Regarding the travel range of the servo. Are the tabs in the governor menu there to adjust the movement / range of the servo with out changing the servo arm? Or is this for something else?Yes to adjust servo range, but not in regards to servo mechanics. I found the range adjustment on the gov tab to have some other not specifically stated function. When I did the end point adjustment in the radio and coordinated that with the mechanics adjustment on the servo horn and got the 0-100% range of motion in the diagnostic tab (without changing the gov tab servo adjustments, I found both on the idle side and full throttle side that the gov didn't respond correctly. In order to allow the gov to function on both high and low (once to release speed from idle up 2 to idle up 1 and on the low side to not engage the gov immediately, I needed to revert my radio endpoints to 100% each and adjust the gov tab servo endpoints. How far to adjust those gov tab endpoints was just a guess. However, and here's the problem, you can't adjust the servo endpoints on the gov tab and get the diagnostic tab to align, cause the diagnostic tab throttle range won't work correctly with the gov on. So I adjusted the gov tab servo endpoints so they were something other than -100 and +100 (actually I ended up with -52 and +102), mostly it seems to get the low point correct and then turned the gov off and readjusted my radio endpoints to get the diagnostic tab, it worked and it wasn't easy and was not a process I can repeat with any confidence. |

Very confusing this... |

What is Spirits official way of setting this up. |

Still playing around with this My Jeti DS16 has end points set at 69% to give the required 0 and 100% in the software. This is not enough to give me servo movement to get from throttle fully shut to fully open. If the end points in the TX were increased up towards 100% this would be fine and is how the current mechanical setup usually works out. Scott H's process has got it all working for him but really I am still looking for the official explanation as what to adjust to get this working correctly with out resorting to trial and error and be confident that it is going to work. Are there any step by step instructions anywhere to work to? |

Our recommended setup procedure is described in the manual. It other words it is very similar to description of Scott H. You should configure 0-100% in the diagnostic tab first (with your transmitter). Then you have to just adjust throttle servo end points/range with Min./Max. parameters. With throttle curve in the transmitter you can adjust idle position and all other flight modes. |

ZeXx86 wrote: Then you have to just adjust throttle servo end points/range with Min./Max. parameters. These are the min/max throttle range tabs in the software, correct? No need to touch the transmitter again to increase endpoints which would of course no longer give 0 - 100% in the software? Just trying to be 100% clear. |

Yes, you are correct. |
