I just updated to 1.2.1 and noticed some very weird ele oscillations that didn't occur before.
I flew in the morning, upgraded around lunch time and went out with the same setup. I also had some extreme vertical descent issues. As I would come back in to land, the heli would begin to descend rapidly (all the while the elevator is bouncing up and down). The uncontrolled descent was fast enough that I didn't catch it in time and I crashed.
I reverted to 1.2.0 and the problems went away. I tried with and without the bluetooth module connected, and with and without elevator filter (this is all in 1.2.0).
With regard to making oscillation happen, it was quite easy: Two or three hard almost full collective rainbows would do it. After coming of the -ve and hovering, oscillation would be present and wouldn't go away.
I can try 1.2.1 again, but I must say I'm somewhat hesitant given my last experience.
Is this something that could have happened as a result of some other change from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1?

Hello,
I am afraid, but there was nothing changed in the firmware that could happen this behavior. Difference between version 1.2.1 and 1.2.0 is only in the failsafe for SRXL and EX Bus protocols.
It would be nice if you can test version 1.2.1 again.
For me it seems rather as some kind of mechanical issue that occur just in some circumstances. For example hot weather, flight time. For example some BK/RJX servos are doing similar strange things due to wrong manufacturing process.
UPDATE: I saw you are actually using RJX servos. Please check if there is no short between aluminium enclosure of the servo and signal wire with multimeter. Unfortunately this is one of the issues that can be seen frequency with these servos. Wires may be partially cutted by enclosure and are getting random noise from motor or all other equipment.

I'money using RJX on the tail, and I went back the next day with a new unit with 1.2.0 on it, and it was fine. I also reloaded 1.2.0 onto my other unit, and that then was fine as well.
I will check for the short tomorrow in any case, and get back to you. Thank you for the info so far.
Not sure when I will try 1.2.1 again, but I will try this week.

I updated to 1.2.1 again today.
The flight was fine and I was unable to replicate the problems I saw before. Hmm. At least it works, but I'd have preferred to really understand what caused it in the first place.

Great, I guess that it is caused by elevator servo, but the problem can occur rather randomly as I described earlier. Hopefully it will be OK.
