Post subject: | [Solved] Bank switch for Rescue and Stabilisation |
Here is the scenario which I wish to achieve: I could active the stabilisation (acro) function to practice the orientation during the inverted hovering; However, if whatever happens during the flight, I could also flip a switch to active the rescue function to bring the helicopter upright and apply positive pitch. Therefore, I'd like to know if is possible to active the 'Bank' function on the Spirit unit, then using the Bank to switch in between different mode for the "Function" under the "Stabi" tab? e.g. set Bank 0 to "Disabled"; Bank 1 to "Stabilisation (Acro)", combining with program mix to set Gyro gain to, e.g."-60", to keep the stabilisation active all the time; Bank 2 to "Rescue (Normal)", combining with program mix to active the Rescue function; Many thanks |

Hi yes it can be set up like this. I have mine setup in a similar way so in theory i have two rescue switches depending on if i am learning inverted flight with Stabalisation acro or learning new moves in normal mode |

Not sure you need the mixing, though... you set the Gyro gain in Spirit, a different one for each bank (so positive for 0 and negative for 1 and 2). Not 100% sure, not using banks, but... think about it |

Here's how I've set mine up : Throttle is on switch B. Normal, IU1 & IU2 Hold is on switch G Banks are on switch F. 0 = normal / disabled 1 = Stabilization 2 = Rescue Gyro set up on switch C. I rotated the switch 180 so that I can flick it easily 9away from me) from 0 to 1 to 2. 0 = gyro gain for low head speed. 1 = gyro gain for high head speed and 2 is negative gain to activate the functionality, based on the bank I'm in. This setup allows me to fly with any combination of banks and stabi / rescue modes. With gyro in 0 and 1, regardless of the bank, it flies as per normal. If I am in bank 1 or 2 and a switch to gyro 2, it activates the functions relevant to the bank. No mixes ............... |

Hi All, Thanks to all of you who provided me with help and replies. I'm sorry that I may not have put my question clearly. I haven’t purchase the unit yet, just want make sure I fully understand how the unit works before I place the order. So, I don’t have a unit to test on it yet. Here is what I understand from reading the manual: A. The Bank switch in Spirit unit allows it to switch between different settings set e.g. Gyro gain, so the question is, can I use it to switch the rescue mode e.g. between "Stabilisation (Acro)" and "Rescue (Normal)"? Also the manual states that once the rescue mode has been selected, to actually activate the rescue, I do need to set the Tail Gyro gain to the same value at the negative side. To my understanding, I do need to assign a channel to switch between Bank 0, 1 and 2; this may +100 (100 on JR) activate the Bank 0; 0 (50 on JR) activate the Bank 1; -100 (0 on JR) activate the Bank 2. To activate the rescue, I do need to assign a switch to bring the Tail Gyro value to the negative side. Let us say the channel for the Banks is CH7 with switch SA, and Tail Gyro channel is CH5. When I want to practice inverted hovering, I flip SA to the corresponding position to select "Stabilisation (Acro)", and activate a mixing to bring the CH5 to the negative side to actually activate the stabilisation and keep it that way. Then whatever happens during the flight, I can then flip the SA to the corresponding position to select " Rescue (Normal)", and activate another mixing to bring the CH5 to the negative side to actually activate the rescue to bring the helicopter upright and move away from the ground. So here is my question about the mixing, is above scenario possible? Ps. I’m using Jr xg11. |

The way you describe is correct apart from the mixing. Assign a switch to your gyro channel that way you have all options open to you and you can fly around in Stabalisation acro and if things get tricky switch your sa switch to the corresponding bank for instant rescue |
