Hi , I'm new using spirit and have some questions . Could you explain each point please

1) Direction control rate (stabi mode) - higer values is to fly 3d like a conventional FBL without degrees limitation? or you have some limitations?. Low values you cant fly 3d?
2) Direction control rate high value - how fast the heli is stabilized with values of 5 when the sticks are released, fast enough to rescue the heli?
3) what are the main differences between stabi ( normal Acro )
in normal when you release the sticks heli always returns to its normal position (skids down) even when is inverted , in acro is the same but when is inverted it remains inverted

thanks

Hi,

1) you are nearly right. You can fly some acrobatics, but there are still some small limitations - helicopter will always return to the horizontal position. In case that you want to do a flips you must overcome the force of stabilisation. This is just for learning basics. For real learning we highly recomend normal flying mode + the rescue mode.
2) It takes approximately 3 seconds. Stabilisation mode is not intended for rescuing helicopter. With the rescue mode it is done as fast as possible and with automatic collective which is very important. This is the key feature of bailout system.
3) With Normal you can't flip the helicopter at all.

Assuming you do fly around in Stabilization mode, I'd want to make sure the stick priority was very high, otherwise you won't get the control you need.

In regard to doing flips and rolls, they're going to be very odd flips and rolls and not like flips and rolls you'd get without Stabilization mode. The stick movements are going to overlap with center and there will be times that you'll want to let go of the sticks during a maneuver, when you do the heli will level out. So, that will be a bit odd during flips and rolls.

You're going to have to try it. The only other caveat is that you need to be aware that self leveling in stabilization includes no collective support at all and if you find yourself inverted you have to be aware enough to input some down collective.

Brain/Ikon/Skookum all have only self leveling so it's not like this statement is revolutionary just something to be aware of. I'm assuming you want stabilization on all the time because you don't trust your skills as a pilot yet.
