Post subject:  Two flops on the ground, need some ideas.

Hi
I have my Spirit on a Gaui x3 with DX8, Lemon satellite, Dominator motor and Hobby Wing ESC. I have a friend who has two Spirits on two different helis so we thought we had it organized.

Yesterday I spooled it up to just lift off but it flopped over on the right before any height. No spins. The pin in locking the tail shaft and pully was gone. I am not sure whether it went during or after the flop. Checked the vibration logs and nothing significant was there.
Today, outside I started a spool up and it went over again. Nothing was broken but the boom was rotated so I put that back straight. It was tight enough.
On the next try it lifted off very stable to about 3 feet than went left and crashed. Both blades broken. One servo arm broken. I noticed that the belt was loose. Tightened it up and ran the diagnostics and got 24 on the y axis. The others were very low.

I can't tell if the loose tail is the problem or something else. If it was the tail I would have thought the heli would start spinning but it did not.

Any ideas would be much appreciated.
thanks, John

I just ran the diagnostic test and got this:
Rx signal lost
Power voltage is low.

My location of the satellite may not be optimal. I have a second one about to arrive so there will be 2 when I attempt to fly again. I will do a range check.
I thought I had the HW Platinum set to 6v but perhaps it did not happen. Redo.

I went to the basement of our apartment building and stood about 3 times the distance, ran up the motor, wiggled sticks, pushed rescue for about 2 minutes. The log says clean and healthy.

Do I risk another set of blades.

After many different considerations it appears that due to my lack of understanding and previous experience with a 300x I managed to reverse the aileron movements. My thinking was that since the swash moved up on the 300x to increase pitch it would move down on Gaui. I was not taking into consideration that the cyclic servos were mounted in the reverse of the 300x and the effect of that.

When the wind drops I will give it a try on soft ground.

I suspect that there is rather bad connection between satellite and the unit. If you can see Receiver signal lost then it is important to fix it.
I recommend to do few test runs without blades so it cant be damaged.

Please check satellite cable very carefully especially around connectors.
