Post subject: | Setting up Gov on the bench with YGE 90LV |
So, this time trying Gov on my X4, which has a YGE 90LV. I've connected the slave orange wire, which is apparently a phase sensor equivalent from the YGE, to the PIT pin on the Spirit. When in Gov setup in the Spirit 1.2.0 s/ware, I can see values for my requested RPM amount. Should I be seeing values for current RPM? And if I am not, do I presume the RPM output of from the YGE is either incompatible or not sending anything? When the heli spins up I don't see any value for "Current RPM" in the gov setup window. Any other way you can think of for me to verify the output from the YGE? |

It should work with YGE 90LV too. With other YGE models it is working fine. Make sure that your Gear Ratio is configured correctly and that your RPM is not too low. With too low RPM it will not display Current RPM so maybe the problem is just there. |

Thanks Thomas. I tried the windows s/ware, no difference. Switched back to Mac, without changing anything, and now I'm seeing RPM. Odd. I'll post here if I ever find the cause (dumb thumbs this end or otherwise). For those interested, in what I've observed here, you won't see an RPM reading until it's above ~1000. It might be different given diff gear ratios, but that's the apparent "start doing something" point for me, running 6.67ratio with 4 poles (Gaui X4 II, stock, 18t, 910v motor) Seem to have a basic setup doing "what looks to be the right thing" now. Will test for real when I can get to the field. |

a) approx. 400 RPM should be high enough b) this is caused because Governor is trying to reach requested RPM, but without RPM sensor measurement it is not possible. You can also try to switch governor mode to Nitro/Gasser option. This will use different method for sensor data processing - just to be sure. Make sure that after this change the unit is restarted. |
