Post subject: | [SOLVED] Jeti - basic setups |
I would ask you whether somebody setup already Jeti TX with Spirit system and can help me. My Jeti TX, RX and Spirit have got newest firmware version. Conection setup as EXbus and here no issue - I can make any modification from TX. Problem which I have is releted to the sticks - I'm not able to setup it correctly. When move stick in any direction, no response on servos / diagnostic screen or wrong servo is moving. But what is interesting - when I moved heli, Spirit modules react accordingly and corectly. I'm not sure what kind of changes I have to do in TX. 1.Swash type - should be setup as "Mechanical" or "3 servos 120" ? 2.Servo assignment - it should be in the same order like in General tab / Channels ? 3.Swash mix - everything on 0 and swash ring off? 4.Function curves - any rules here or can I have the same curves as for FB setup? I really do appreciate your help. Best regards Mariusz |

Hello, if servos are not moving when you are moving with sticks, then there the unit does not receive signal. Basically this should work with very default settings in the transmitter. So I suspect that your channels in the transmitter are somehow not assigned. In the transmitter you can press MENU button, then go to Model -> Servo Assignment and here it should look like: 1 Motor 2 Aileron 3 Elevator 4 Collective 5 Rudder 6 Gyro Gain You can also check this that you plug some free servo into each receiver port and verify each channel. |

Also make sure that your firmware in the transmitter and receiver is updated. |

Thank you for your prompt response. I've checked everything once again and finaly I achieved: - servos are moving together with stick - direction and channels are ok - if I moved heli, Spirit module made good correction - in the Diagnostic tab (Spirit Setting software) every channels are moving accordingly - one thing is different - in TX channel 4 is empty, 5 is Rudder and 6 is Pitch however tab General / Receiver channel mapping shows: 4 - Rudder, 5 - Pitch, no 6. Receiver is 9 channels. Is it something what I should take care? |

Create a new heli model in the TX and do not change any servo assignments, except maybe add Bank as servo 7. The TX servo assignments will be different than on the Spirit channel mapping, but when using EXbus you will see that the control responses on the Diagnostic tab are correct. |

Also, here is the Servo Setup I ended up with to get the correct range mapping on the Diagnostic tab. Servo Subtrim Max+ Max- Throttle 6% 68% -68% Aileron 0% 68% -68% Elevator 0% 68% -68% Pitch 8% 68% -68% Rudder 0% 68% -68% Gyro Gain 4% 78% -78% |

It is working now - thanks once again. As advised - I created new model in TX, swash type chose as "Mechanical" and first of all I didn't touch anything on the Spirit channel mapping tab. What about Throttle / Pitch curve - can I leave it in shape as in flybar model? |

Perfect. Yes, you can. You can connect throttle to the receiver as with flybar, so regarding motor there is nothing different. To achieve the best performance RPM should be as constant as possible. For Pitch channel it is important that +/-100% and 0% matching in the diagnostics tab. |

I have increased the throw of the channels to get +/- 100% throw for all channels in the diagnostic tab. Also, do not use any subtrim in the transmitter. It's mentioned in the Spirit manual. If you use subtrim, then the Spirit fbl considers it as a steering input from the transmitter. Out of the box I've also gotten the 68% throw in the Spirit Diagnostic page for 100% throw in the ds-16 menu. I then increased the throw around 135% in the ds-16, what resulted to 100% throw on the Spirit Diagnostic page. |

I had to reduce the throws in the DS-16 to 68% (340us) in order to get 100% on the Diagnostic tab. |
