I am slowly learning the new Wave operating system the hard way because the manual is so fragmentary and piecemeal at present. I can only hope this will be resolved as soon as possible! On my Jeti radios I am able to set a timer in action with a switch or throttle stick, but seem only to be able to switch 'off' a throttle reset switch with the Wave at present! I still cannot find the 'Trim' function to be able to set an activation switch! I have probably missed something, but this is currently my frustration that I cannot just look up a function in a menu in a Radio Manual and find out how to program something. Tomas, I know this is still work in progress, and I really like the radio, but I am getting very frustrated with this lack of overt support. I am not detracting from the radio itself, it will be absolutely superb, but need a little more assistance. I already know what I want to achieve, but frequently can't find how to implement it!! I need to say that I have been playing with radios from 2-channel Sanwa sets on 27MHz in the 1970's in the UK, through Futaba 4-channel FM, to JR / Spectrum 2.4 GHz, RadioMaster and Jeti and generally know what I want and need to achieve, so will usually be able to figure things out, but I really want this radio to succeed. The problem might be that such a brilliant radio precludes a lot of uninitiated RC modelers because they have little or no prior experience and need to be led by the hand a bit more! I don't think that it is an unreasonable request to have a slightly more accessible manual available. I truly do not care if that is printed or online, I guess online makes editing and updating far easier, but I think the Spirit Wave should distance itself from the like of Open Source / Edge, by giving a far more logical and explicit explanation of the workings for the like of old-timers like me! I did get a Computer-Science degree many decades ago (started with punch-cards in the early 1970's in Fortran), but I am finding things a bit frustrating at present!! Sympathizing about the situation and truly hoping for great success with the radio, but maybe just getting a bit old? In terms of old-fashioned data-processing, supporting the end-user to achieve what they need to achieve within a newly developed/developing/evolving operating environment or implementation is paramount. Maybe the old-fashioned data processing principles which I learned in the past are no-longer relevant? Andy |

Yes, so where is the Trim Widget, please???!!! This is the very crux of my point, that the current manual situation is not user friendly at all! It may be that people think I'm stupid, but the access is not easy!!!!! I understand that you are pointing to some information, but I don't see this clearly! How do I get into trim mode, please??????? Sorry, Habásek, I know you are trying to help me! But how do I show this trim menu???????????? Andy |

Hold your finger on a clean widget for a long time and a menu will appear where you can choose which widget you want. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_R4P1h22K4 But beware, there is no trim mode for the helicopter model with the W1 unit. It can only be recalled for aircraft models. It is understandable, trim for FB units is not needed. The trim widget is also available when you create a new helicopter model and select only the Spirit receiver. If you try to select Spirit Unit, the trim widget will not appear |

Thank you Habásek! That is why I can't find it! I had gone in, long-pressed the window and looked through all of those options, obviously not seeing it! I only currently have helicopter models with the W1! This is why I have found the current 'manual' a bit frustrating, because it is not very easy to find this sort of information! From a design engineering perspective this would be obvious, and in hindsight with your explanation it is, but not necessarily to the uninitiated! Thanks, Andy |

Even a sort of a 'Quick Start' manual might go a long way initially and save learning things the long (frustrating) hard way! |
