Good afternoon. I've just spent a couple of days flying my new Goblin 570 with a Spirit FBL. Congratulations - the FBL unit is amazing, the Goblin flew quite well straight out of the box with the default 570 settings. I'm now chasing a slow tail wag. Let me try to give you more info on the behaviour of the tail wag: - it's a slow left to right movement, about 1 or 2 oscillations every second - it's probably moving about 1 or 2 degrees left and right, and is present when hovering - during a clockwise nose down upright funnel, the tail is a lot louder - anti-clockwise is nice and quiet Here at the settings I was using today, main points: - head gain 70 - tail multiplier 1.1 (maybe that's way too high?) - 61 tail gyro (via advanced settings -> diagnostics) Any help appreciated. Thank you.

Hi, thank you for the report. What is your rudder servo? For Goblin helicopters it is important to check tail mechanics, because it is in the most cases not very smooth when it is new. Sometimes tail will start to work after few flights, but it is better to tune mechanics little bit to eliminate friction that is present. This is nearly always reason for the slow tail wag and much worse tail behavior. You can check this with push rod of the tail mechanics (without servo). It should be really smooth. The best test to do is spin the helicopter (without blades) and try to move with push rod. If you will feel friction, then there is something bad. I recommend to configure Rudder delay to 0-5. Rudder dynamics to 5-6 (3 may be too low, but depends on your preference). Also I recommend to set 3-4° pitch for rudder neutral center position (when servo horn is at 90°). |

Hi BK 7005HV I'll check out the tail mechanics - it was DEFINATELY not butter smooth. I figured that a flew flights would smooth it out. |
