Post subject: | Trying to get "0" Signal Value from Aux Channel |
I hope this post makes sense; I have just bought a Gryphon On Board Glow that is activated by a receiver channel. The unit is powered up / sleep mode through a receiver channel and then 'activated' by the transmitter switch signal. I have connected it to a Spirit RS Aux Channel and have activated the channel through the Spirit PC firmware channel settings. However no matter what I do through my Jeti channel settings (ie negative value set to max -150) I can't get the Gryphon to "turn off" and go back into its sleep mode. The Spirit PC Firmware "Channel" screen shows that the aux channel is going back to a apparent "0" value when switched off and a full open value when switched on. If I deactivate the Aux channel through the Spirit Firmware or plug the Gryphon directly into a power supply it then happily sits powered up in sleep mode. I hope this all makes sense and maybe someone can assist me in getting a no signal value through the Spirit Aux Channel. |

Hello, you can plug in a servo at the AUX port to see what it does. Maybe you need to reverse channel in your radio. |

Hi Tomas Plugged in a servo and it moves fine with the switch activation. Also tried reversing the channel but no change in the Gryphon. I should add that the Gryphon does buzz when its in "glow mode" and the buzzer does start reducing in volume / tone when the switch is in the OFF position and trimmed to negative. Again when I just plug in a pure power supply it turns on fine in sleep mode (no buzzer) but I can't get it to do this through the Aux channel on the RS? I've also attached a copy of the manual for your interest.

Could you try by chance what will happen with lower Cyclic servo frequency? This frequency is shared wtih AUX port. There is also other solution with RS unit by enabling output from JETI receiver through JETIBOX on EXT pin. |

Just an update to my last post. I just plugged the Gryphon directly into a Jeti Receiver with a normal OFF / ON channel. The Gryphon turns on and off / stby with the switch as you would expect (and even if I reduce the negative trim in the radio to almost 0 it still stays off / stby). Therefore it appears that the Spirit is somehow giving the unit some sort of signal strength through the Aux channel even with it programmed to the max negative values that I can get through the transmitter? Im still interested in any other ideas that you may have including using the Jeti Box (if this still allows me to have a RPM sensor) or maybe trying the GTR if one of its extra channels may work better? Thanks again |

It is possible to set in JETIBOX pin output to "Servo". Go to Applications/JETIBOX - Rx -> Out Pin Set -> Y2 / E1 -> Pin Config Y2 -> Y = ... servo. Then at E1 port you will get Servo output controlled by channel that you can also set further in JETIBOX by going to SetInChannel Y2, there select channel you want to output from your radio. And that is all. It is little complicated but should work in the very same way as from external JETI receiver. It seems that Gryphon can accept only frequency 50Hz, not higher. For this reason AUX port does not work for this. |

THANKYOU Tomas!! I would have never been able to work out the Jetibox solution by myself. The Gryphon is now working perfectly through the E1 channel |
