Post subject:  Spirit RS/GTR - REX3 output period / frequency

Hello Tomas,

when playing around with Jetibox emu on a Spirit RS the other day i've noticed that output period is set to 17ms (Jeti default). on my 2 devices (1xSpirit II, 1xGT) that are still connected via REX3 i am using 10ms (which i've used before on all of my former Spirit II/GT units connected with external REX3 - which was the value i set "once upon a time" with Neo before switching to Spirit). never any problem, never any error in the logs.

is there any risk/problem you see with that setting? any advantages/disadvantages one could maybe notice (latency? even noticeable?).

just for fun i've now changed my Spirit RS testing unit to 10ms and there is nothing in the logs after long running time (on bench of course :)).

thx, Ciao
Michael

Hello,

the output period is used only when used PWM or PPM output of the receiver. It has no meaning for EXBUS. We recommend to leave all parameters at default - if configured incorrectly you will loose connection with Spirit unit.
This parameter is not in Device Explorer - REX-RS settings because it will do nothing.

What will change speed is directly in the radio where you can set 50 or 100Hz frequency.

Hello Tomas,

thx a lot for the quick reply & clarification... so it's really only for PWM/PPM output (that's probably why i did it long time ago in earlier times with vbar) and has no impact at all on my todays setups. great to know!

Ciao
Michael
