I will be using the Jeti DS-12 radio (upgraded to 12 channels) and the Spirit GTR. Assuming you have enough channels on your radio to go either way, what are the pros and cons of using a dedicated channel vs. using negative gyro gain to engage the Stabi function?

When it is controlled by a dedicated channel these things are independent from Gyro Gain. Settings are easier usually if you want to have more flight modes.
But you will loose one channel.

Probably you have to find what is better for you. Usually it does not matter if you can set it in both ways.

Thank you for the prompt reply.

I don't know about other radios, but the Jeti radio has to ability to create a double free mix that effectively turns the gyro gain into a negative value. So a gyro gain of "60%" would become "-60%". This double free mix can be assigned to a switch/button/knob. I have 12 channels in the DS-12 radio, so assigning "Rescue" to channel 8 still leaves me with 4 free channels available. I just wanted to learn if there was any major functionality difference between using 2 free mixes or using a dedicated channel to accomplish "Rescue", and it seems there isn't.
