Hi,

sometimes directly after plugging the battery and initialisation, swash is (very) slowly tilting to the right while heli is still on the ground.
This isn't an issue with normal flying, but rescue isn't that precice.
Rescue is tilted to the same direction the swash was tilting after initialisation.
During the flight, it may become better.

observations on the bench.
It isn't 100% reproducible, but when it happens, then the following could be observed:
1.) swash is very slowly tilting to the right (always the same direction)
2.) you can level the swash with aileron-input on the TX, but as soon as you leave it alone it starts again tilting to the right.
3.) When hitting rescue switch then:
- swash is slightly tilted to the right.
- after releasing the switch swash is prefect level.
- then slowly starts again tilting.
4.) power-cycle the unit, and the issue is gone. Swash is level and stays there "forever".

Any idea, how we can nail down this issue?
- I would exclude the TX. Sticks are perfectly zero, which can be veryfied in Diagnostic-Tab of Spirit-software.
- due to antispark-resistor and capacitors in the ESC it may be that power isn't instantly at full voltage.
- maybe I am moving the heli a little, while plugging battery.
- maybe some temperature drift of the gyro-sensor?

Greetings
Manfred

Hi,

thats very strange. We are testing each unit to make sure there is no drift in various temperature conditions, so one possibility is movement during initialization process or second, excessive noise from the BEC.

Is possible to try power-cycle the unit with no movement?
Can you send me serial number of the unit to verify the date it was manufactured? (Private message would be best).

To track down the issue
- I disconnected the ESC with its BEC.
- powered the Unit with 4 AA NiMH cells.
The first four attempts to reproduce the tilting were without any issue.
Then I replaced the NiMH cells with fully charged ones.
And bingo - swash is tilting.

I tested again with fully charged 4x NiMH AA Cells:
1.) Powerd on TX (leave it running for ca. 10min untouched)
2.) plugged my NiMH battery without touching anything (BEC and bluetooth was disconnected)
3.) leave it untouched for 5min.
I could not see any movement of the swash, but hear the servos "ticking" all the time.
4.) at 5min: hit rescue switch.
Swash tilted to the right, and went back to level after releasing switch.
5.) at 7 min: touched aileron stick.
Swash was tilting to the right.
Trying to level it with the stick, but swash was moving to the right again. (exactly the situation I have posted above)
6.) at 12min: plugged in bluetooth.
Checked diagnose-tab: ELE AIL channel perfect zero.
Checked flight log: full of "Cyclic Ring" messages.
7.) at 17min: power-cycled Spirit.
- initializing as expected.
- rescue is perfect level
- I can move the swash with the stick: it returns to level
- not a single noise from the servos. (if not touching)

Solution:
After sending the unit to Spirit Systems, Tomas confirmed that the unit really was bad and had sensor drift.
Now I am getting a replacement unit.

I have this same issue, but it's the elevator for me. When I initialize the unit the swash is level and will slowly return to level after moving the cyclic round. However it sometimes seems to get confused after moving the sticks around a lot and forgets where level is. The swash will then slowly tilt in the back elevator direction until it bottoms out. Power cycling the unit clears it up.

It seems to fly fine however.

What is happening, if
1.) you don't touch it for ~5min?
2.) than hit rescue?
3.) than move stick to "backwards elevator"?

In my case
at 2. swash was tilted
at 3. swash stayed there, and didn't return to level.
I did NOT "moving the sticks around A LOT"

Hello,

it seems as normal behavior if you are doing such test on the ground.
It is not intended for this purpose, because it is learning all the time from stick and helicopter movement. After initialization you should start flying normally.

Does it work correctly during flight with rescue including?

Make sure that you have checked this:
