Post subject:  Throttle output telemetry

I have a Spirit RS unit with a Jeti TX, the only telemetry values that the Spirit provides to the TX is the 'S Vibes' and 'S RPM' values (they are also not under the proper label and get merged with other modules on the TX).

Why so few? I would like to at least see the 'S Throttle' value as I'm trying to tune the Governor (using a throttle servo connected to Spirit RS on a Nitro 600XN) and would like to see how the governor's outputs. This would assist in determining how well nitro engine is performing (tuning) as well as tuning the P and hold parameters in the Spirit configuration - I seem to recall this may have been promised in the past but it is not available in v3.3.3.

Is this available and if not can you please add this?

Does the Spirit GT/GTR provide these values via telemetry? I notice that the Spirit GT manual indicates there are a large number of parameters logged, it would be nice to have these available via telemetry too - I don't see why I should have to connect via USB to look at logs - that is the purpose of telemetry and also the selling point that Spirit is fully integrated with Jeti!

Thanks.

Hello,

all these parameters are logged in the Spirit GT as you mentioned.
Not all variables are available, because each new variable makes communication slower - it has to transmit more data to the receiver while not that much can come to the unit.
So we have to make good compromise between variables number, refresh rate and latency of new commands to the unit.
Our aim is to have the fastest communication as possible. So there are parameters that are useful to send always, not only during few tuning flights.
If you are using ESC telemetry or add GeoLink then there are many more variables.

In near future it can be possible to select which variables you want to really transmit. This can resolve the problem but will add another configuration.

Thank you for the explanation. I have ordered a GT unit so will fit that and be able to examine the logs.

I was going to suggest what you just did now too, allow configuration of a small subset of parameters to send via telemetry, maybe up to 3 max. I hope you get to add this feature at some point it would be awesome.

Thanks

as i've asked for that several times too: thx a lot for the explanation, Tomas, which i can fully understand... and great if the selectable variables will be available once in future! great support as always...
