Post subject:  Chinook 4 servos no rudder

Hi, I was going to wait for spirit to give me tandem mode with 6 servos, but could not wait any longer.
I converted my swash plates to 4 servos type and assumed all would be straight forward!
But alas no.
Pitch, aileron, elevator servos all worked but virtually no rudder.
I have been flying tandems for a couple of years (Vario with BD3sx) but decided that they were getting too heavy for me to carry etc.
Now onto Hirobo and Spirit - hope I haven’t made a mistake. Never any trouble with BD3sx and rudder.

Please advise
Thanks

Hi,

can you let me know what behavior you can see on the bench when moving with rudder stick?

Is swashplte moving?

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. Both swash plates move in different directions (as they should) but virtually no movement. Blades move 0.7degrees max from end to end.
Hope this helps.

Please make sure that Sensor/Rotation Rate is high enough for Rudder.
And also that Advanced/Cyclic Feed Forward has a decent value.

Also make sure that in the Diagnostic tab Rudder channel is moving in the full extent +/- 100%

Hi, All done and checked. I also lengthened the servo rods etc to increase the throws and it is now acceptable and should be ok.
Thanks Again

It is also possible you will have to increase Rudder End-Points.
This can help a lot too.
