Hello,

please try to click at Reopen application if the software will crash until the software will start.

Unfortunately after downloading new software, Mac will require granting new permissions in some cases. If they are not granted it will not allow to run the app. In this case it should start and all will be OK after these steps.

Also make sure previous software was closed (preferably to reboot your Mac). I believe it will work well again.

Can you let me know if you started the Spirit Settings from Mac DMG file? It is recommended to move the app to Desktop or Applications directory.

all permissions are granted (of course).
the previous version was closed - otherwise it would not have been possible to replace the app.
And as a last point: I copied the app into the program directory.
But I also started the app from the desktop. it is always ended immediately with the crash.
I also tested exchanging the contents of the app-package (Unix-file):
Exec 3.3.0 starts without problem and exec >spirit-Settings< 3.3.1 immediately crashes.

There is definetly a problem with this file but only if the USB interface is connected and access to the Spirit GT takes place.
have you seen my crash statements?

P.S. Chross-check: Update Spirit-settings 3.3.1 under windows 7 has no problem accessing SpiritGT

That is very interesting, because the issue was actually in 3.3.0.
Could you remove current 3.3.1 software and download and install it again please?

It is possible to send full crash log. Can you please copy the full log and attach it please? This would be helpfull

We tested current 3.3.1 version on Catalina, High Sierra and Big Sur and it just works for us. Your report can help.

I've noticed the same on Big Sur (11.4) on MacBook Air M1... 3.3.0 without problems 3.3.1 kept crashing for many retries (with reopen button and manual restart) and 2-3 reboots. suddenly it worked and stayed Ok since then... was after 12-15 restarts without success for sure. 3.3.0 always started without problem in the same time (I've kept both in parallel).

nb: since 3.3.1 is working, 3.3.0 is crashing now... so maybe they do not like to be installed both at the same time? (I've just renamed them with version, i.e. "Spirit-Settings 3.3.1")

There is no installation at macOS. It also doesn't matter whether the app is renamed: the app is just a packed directory. you can view it with ctrl + click and then show the package contents ...

Removed and downloaded once more - same behavior: USB connector connected (to mac + GT) and ESC supplied with 7.2V -> immediate crash after starting the program
Please note: this behavior affects 2 MacBooks with different system versions as I described above.
I have attached full crash report
thank you for your support

Hi,

same story when i updated my iMac (Catalina 10.15.7). settings 3.3.0 without problems, 3.3.1 crashing during startup (when unit is connected and on only). crashlog attached.

after many retries (with Spirit unit on/off and TX on/off, demo mode, setup wizzard, etc).... suddenly the update history windows is shown and the unit is working as expected. could not find a schema why/when it finally worked... everything tried several times before without success. like on MacBook Air => not it is working perfectly.

Thank you very much.

The logs are very helpful, now we know where the problem is. But no why it is happening and why it is happening such "randomly".
Anyway we will try to fix as soon as possible.

I had the same problem with 3.3.0

Seems to be working for now after several reinstalls but I'm not going to do any more firmware updates until this is sorted out.
I got to 3.3.0 and all is well so far.

As a developer, I know how hard it is to track this stuff down.
Good luck Thomas and thanks for all your hard work with Spirit development !
