Hello! The Spirit GT will be the first non-Spektrum receiver/controller that I'll be using. I'll be using it with my Blade Fusion 270. I've checked the manual and I have some confusion I'd like to clear up.

Currently I use an NX8 transmitter to an AR636 receiver/controller combo. Looking at the manual here it says to use an SLRX2 receiver for newer setups. I know my transmitter uses DSMX/DSM2, but I've never heard of SLRX2 until now. Googling the term, it looks like it's a communications protocol, so I assume it's the latest communications tech that will supersede DSMX? If so, does my transmitter talk SLRX2?

Tying this all off, if I purchase the SPM9747, for example, and the SLRX2 adapter cable in the eShop, I'll be able to use my NX8? The manual only mentions the DX and iX transmitters, and not the NX. So far as I know the only difference between the lines of transmitter is the NX has wifi built into it and the DX transmitters do not. BUT, before I go buying things willy nilly, I wanted to be sure.

My last question is, the SPM9745 is not mentioned in the manual so far as I can tell from searching. The 9745 on the Spektrum site just says DSMX -- would that work in the same fashion with the same cable from the eShop? What would I be losing if I went that route? Is there any reason to go that route?

I apologize if my questions seem basic and common sense, but this is all very new to me and my Google-Fu hasn't clearly netted any information on this particular aspect of this part of the hobby. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

Hi
You dont have to worry abaut the transmitter DSMX will work fine.Slrx2 is the serial protocoll betwhen the RX and
And fbl unit,rx AR6610T gives you fullrange, telemetry and up to 20 channels depending on how many channels your transmitter has.
The old SPM9747 wont work whith slrx2.

Thank you, Latjo! I want to make sure I completely understand before I purchase any Spektrum receivers to use with the Spirit GT. So the AR6610T connects to the Spirit FBL with the JETI Integration Cable according to the manual. I assume, them that the AR6610T only passes on the commands received by the AR6610T to the Spirit FLB through that JETI cable? I ask because I see the channel ports on the AR6610T and it looks like it's a full receiver/controller combo itself.

Looking at this part of the manual, the SPM9747 looks like a much smaller receiver. When you say the SPM9747 won't work, are you saying it won't work with my NX8? Or are you saying it won't give me telemetry?

Thank you for your patience with me while I'm learning this.

The ar6610t has 6 physical channels, witsh you dont use, you can use jeti cable or make your own.
The spm9747 dont has telemetry and you have to chose dsmx in spirit settings.
And The amount of channels is limeted to the TX number of channels.

On a 270 you could use this receiver.....http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Default. ... D=SPM4651T
It is a lot smaller than the 6610t but still full range and full range telementry, but still srxl2...

That looks a lot more ideal given the smaller space I have to work with. To make sure I'm clear on what I'd need, I'd be buying that AND the SLRX2 adapter cable from the eShop?

Follow-up question -- I see people using two receivers, such as a satellite+satellite, or a full+satellite. I'm assuming this is for redundancy only? I'm reading carbon fiber blocks signals but I see plenty of carbon fiber birds only running one receiver, such as the 636 in the 270 and 360 Fusions.

You will need this cable to update the receiver...http://spektrumrc.com/Products/Default. ... D=SPMA3066
You could also use same cable but split the signal wire to another male servo plug on the Spirit....Or as you say use the Spirit Spektrum srxl2 cable...
