I am using the Spirit Configuration Software v3.0. When I try to open the log, I get an error message that no valid PDF-reader was found on my system.

The Adobe PDF viewer is installed (default folder "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC\Reader\AcroRd32.exe"). The PDF viewer normally works fine and is setup to open .pdf files by default.

Has anybody an idea what the problem might be?

I did some further investigation.

The following conditions apply to my system:
  • Windows 10 (German Language)
  • Documents folder moved to D:\Dokumente (using the properties of the documents folder)

I monitored the Spirit Settings process with Procmon (SysInternals). There I can see, that the Settings tool creates a new PDF-file in my D:\Dokumente folder, but then tries to open C:\Dokumente\spirit-log-....pdf. The drive letter changes from D to C. On C the folder Dokumente and the logfile do not exist. But if I look manually into my documents folder on D, there the logfile exists and I am able to open it using the Explorer. It just does not work from the Spirit Settings tool.

Same for me: my document folder is in the F drive.

Thanks for spotting this and all the investigation: based on your analysis I could easily find the PDF and open it manually. Would be nice to solve this minor issue though.

Same for me from the very beginning almost 5 years ago and never been fixed since. Not a great deal but frustrating.

Hello,

you can try this software: http://spirit-system.com/dl/settings//s ... -win32.exe
Hopefully it will help.
