Dear all,

coming from Brain/Jeti, changed to Spirit RS.
Before all telemtry data where valid/trustful

Changed to Spirit RS (nice FBL, like it) with Hobbywing 120a V4
All datas are valid except Temperature.
Is much to high. Hobbywing Prog-Box shoes 25°C, but Spirit starts with 38°C.
Under flight spirit shows up tp 106°C (But in reality isn`t)

-----------

Changed to a huge brandnew ESC, Hobbywing 130a V4 ) on same Motor.
Again, under normal climate condition (office room) starts with 38°C.
Under flight up to 138°C (But in reality isn`t, you can touch the ESC)

-----------

Can you check your software please.
It seems (sure) that spirit is calculate/use wrong figures.

With best regards
Manfred

Hello,

temperature reported by Spirit with HobbyWing ESC is internal from FET transistors.
These can reach temperatures even near 150°C. This is all OK.

It seems people are confused by this. So we consider to change it to external temperature.

Hello Tomas,

i've just done a little test: Hw 80A v4... telemetry signal connected to:

1. j-Log S32 => Rex3: "FET temp." reporting 27-28°C on bench directly after startup, stays solid for 1-2 minutes test
2. Spirit 2 => Rex3: reporting 35.7 - 35.8°C on bench directly after startup, stays solid for 1-2 minutes test

check with laser temp. gun: room / bench / heli / esc: all around 26-27°C

... so i guess there IS something with the temperature measurements... i've repeated 3 times both versions alternating. always same result.

I have similar results with HW 25A and 40A V4 ESC.

When I start the system at 25-27 °C room temp, the first reading for the FET temp in telemetry window is 37-39 °C.

Depending on the position of the ESC (unter the canopy or outside on the frame) I see 55 up to 80 °C
During hovering an ESC on the frame gets up to 75 °C due to the missing air flow.
