Has anyone with the RS found the Rx voltage to be over sensitive over Telemetry? I am losing well over a volt with mild flying. Same heli setup as before with the old red unit. I had the Alarm set .3v under BEC volt to trigger if the Backup Guard kicked in and that was fine. Alarming all the time now so can't tell if the BEC has failed! Wondering if it's because the Rx is powered internally? I have two RSs and both exhibit the same. |

Hello I have the same problem. I thought my BEC was too weak. |

Hello, the Spirit RS receiver part is powered from the same source (but redundant) as the Spirit board. So basically what you can see is what is coming to the unit really. Power is drained by the servos and then the rest is available for the unit. This is how it is for each unit. But only with Spirit RS you can really see what is happening to the unit itself. With external receiver all the power is not going through the same connection. So it can't measure voltage in the unit. Your BEC is performing in the very same way, but readings are now accurate. |

Thanks Tomas! Is there a way a filter can be put in to make it respond the same way as a normal Rx? Alarms are pretty much useless at the mo for saying you're running on Backup power. My Kosmik is Ok but my Jive Pro doesn't do BEC V so rely on Rx V! |

I am afraid it is not possible, but you can lower the alarm voltage. Actually it mean you were just unable to see what was happening all the time. So instead ideal solution would be to eliminate the voltage drops. Until it is higher than 3.4V everything is perfect. By filtering the voltage you are rather just masking the problem. So then voltage measurement has no sense. We are actually glad that it can measure voltage in that way since it will allow pilots to make powering really good and flight very safe. For example you can see how just Y-cables can cause such drops. |

I saw a drop from 6v down to 3.6v on the BEC tester. BEC voltage shown didn't budge from 6v. Using the two thick power wires from Kontronik. This was brought up a few years ago, my servos stop moving at 94% during the test.....any update on this? Thanks |

Hi. I have the same problem with RS unit and Tomas suggested to use some sort of backup power to help BEC. I have bought "1st Buffer-Pack 25F V4.8 for Helis 450-700" It can feed short-term peak current 25 amps When I perform BEC-test even with Buffer-Pack fully charged I still get alarm time to time (if I move sticks fast for 10min with load on the rotor head I still can not lower status on buffer pack for more then 20% and alarm sets off for battery low voltage on rx) I`m worried because I use: 3 x BLS451 and BLS251 servos that are not power hungry and ESC is Kontronik Jive 120 HV (heli is Logo 600 if that matters) It is interesting that in flight I did not get alarm yet and I have ~20 flights on it. |

In the 'old' days (a week ago) we were blissfully ignorant of any voltage problems and generally never suffered as a result. I'm slightly of a mind to put the blinkers on and 'Go Fly'! I may put a cap on my two Kontronics as a plaster. |

Things such as servo connectors, crimping quality can play a role too. For example if you will add servo cable extension it might cause big drops easily. If the setup was reliable until now, it will still work well. |

Tomas, slightly off topic but I brought it up earlier, the issue of the servos stopping moving before the bec test has finished. 94%?? Thanks |
