Spirit SW 3.1 and GeoLink 1.2 FrSky Receiver RX8R and TX Horus x12s I want the the heli goes on Return to Home (RTH) with altitude limit in the case of failsafe. I have programmed RTH ( Ch 5) and altitude limit (Ch9) In the TX i have set the values for Ch5 and Ch9 to fix values. If i switch off the TX i can see that the failsafe switches the values of Ch5 to 50% ( RTH) and Ch9 to 100% That is fine. I have problems with the Throttle (Ch7). I have programmed failsafe in the Horus to Hold Ch7 on the last value. I have connected a S-Bus Monitor and can see that the last value will be set on failsafe to 60% ( for example the stick position for flying) But the throttle goes to 0% in the spirit, i can see this at the diagnose page of the Spirit Settings software. Can anyone tell me how to set the last value and not one predefined value for the throttle failsafe. Thanks a lot Ciao Jörg |

The failsafe should ONLY be set in the fbl, not the radio or the receiver. It's in the general- channels screen. Set your tx switches and sticks to where you'd like them to be during a failsafe, then press the failsafe button in the spirit settings. |

Unless you connect the ESC to the receiver and not the FBL.... |

@yufasa: Thank's i will try it @jjuk: I don't know the correct position for throtte so i cannot set it to a fix value. |

Note that if the radio signal never restores, e.g. tx battery fails etc. The heli will return to home, hover at your altitude limit until the heli batteries run flat, then fall from the sky. You also need to set a minimum altitude. If you dont, the heli will rth at the altitude that it was at when the failsafe occurred. I cant help but think this is just a bad idea. To be safe, the spirit team should implement this functionality so it can climb to 100 ft, return to home, land and cut throttle. You cant do that with the correct software. Trying to do this yourself is asking for trouble as it's not designed to do this. I'd advise you to set heli to position hold + no throttle and let it crash. |

Tomas will change the software see viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3150 jjuk wrote: I'd advise you to set heli to position hold + no throttle and let it crash. That's the point what i want with difference of hold position and Return to Home Fly back to RTH with altitude limit and then wait til battery is empty. At this point it is the same like hold position and no throttle. But: Perhaps on the fly back the radio signal restore and i can rescue the heli |

The change that you linked to was to allow the RTH position to be set to startup location. The change I was referring to was a special failsafe mode that will return, land and power off. (There are other recent posts that would like the fbl to flip skids down, then perform an auto when failsafe occurs). Connect the throttle back to the spirit so everything is in one place. Disable tx and rx failsafe. Then setup geolink alt limit, alt minimum and RTH. Enable all 3 on your radio and set throttle on radio to idle up 1. Then in spirit click 'set failsafe'. To test this, turn off the radio on the bench and look at the diagnostic screen. Then to test in the field, turn off your radio (!) .. this is dangerous!! |

I would hope the idea here is the your heli moves away from a troublesome spot where the link dropped out - maybe because of cell tower interference or...anyway the heli return to a upright position and start coming towards you and manages to reestablish connection so that you can land it. Turning the radio off to see if it will return home...nope I will not be that guinea pig:) |
