Hello,

I have some problems, maybe caused by Spirit:
A few month ago, I flew my Logo several flights, suddenly after a turn it started pirouetting by itself followed by a crash. Activation of rescue was without function. In the log i didn't find anything.
After rebuilt, I flew approx. 10 flights without any issues. Today, I had the same problem again, during a straight flight, it started pirouetting but I was able to bring the Heli to the ground without any damage. On the ground the tail servo was without function, swashplate worked well. After reconnecting power, everything worked again without any signs of an error.
Then I started hovering, moving tail to left and right and pitching 3m up and down. After approx. 1min. the swashplate moved in a back/right position by itself, tail started again to rotate. This time I was unlucky and crashed again.
Does anyone have an idea what this problem is causing or how I can test to identify these sporadic problems?
Also checked Graupner logs, however no signal loss nor Failsave.

Setup:
Mikado Logo 550SX, Graupner GR-16 receiver, Graupner ESC T100 connected with diode to receiver, R2Buffer connected to Aux at spirit, SumD Protocol, Spirit Telemetry and ESC-Telemetry connected via Y-cable to receiver. Antistatik wire is also mounted on the Logo.

Thanks for helping!
Armin

Hello,

that is very sad.
For me it look like the tail servo is always stopping to work. When helicopter is pirouetting and you activate the Rescue, there is chance it will do nothing as there is very limited possibility to ascend since the tail rotor is not holding its position.

The servo could "deactivate" itself when it receive signal out of range. You could replicate it theoretically by configuring too high Rudder end-points. It is possible that they are already too high and in some maneuver when the rudder reach the limit, it will stop to do anything.
But usually in that case once rudder signal is returned back, the rudder servo should be alive again.

If servo does not recover it mean that it has no signal at all or some internal fault occured. Very simple way to verify that unit is OK is to replicate the problem and then reconnect the servo in the RUD port without unplugging the battery. This will tell us that valid signal is still there and servo has no reason to not work anymore.

There is possibility the servo/electronics is hitted by a static discharge (especially if some grounding wire is near the servo or cables). Then this could cause the problem too.

Do you have the anti static wire connecting the tail to boom and boom to the motor mount ( if you have then check for continuity between tail and motor mount )
I had a similar problem with a Logo 600sx which had a bad connection where the anti static wire screwed in to the front of the tail boom and caused static

Dear Andy,

thanks for helping. I guess that was my problem.
Since using the antistatic wire no more problems.
