Hi Thomas I have replaced the BD3SX with the spirit on my protos 500 streched. I was very impressed how easy it was to setup the spirit system and how good the heli has already been flying with the pre setups. After some small tuning it has already been flying amazing and the way I like it to fly - I feel very connected and very "safe" in flying - hard to describe but I really like the flight behaviour! But during bail out the heli sometimes difts really, really strong - so strog that the heli hardly gains altitude and drifts hard via aileron and elevator. On the workbench and immediately after departure everything works fine. But after some piroflips and especially after aileron tic tocs the heli realy drifts hard (elevator and often a combination of aileron and elevator). After landig and activating bail out you can see that the swashplate is completely unlevel (although it is leveled when bail out is not activated) The second thing I realised is that alhough I have set he highest stick priority in the stabi tab the heli is hardly following stick inputs while activating bail out and is still drifting hard. On the workbench the stick priority function perfectly works. Also with BD3SX I have experienced some drifting but never that strong and I was always able to correct durging bailout (My protos 500 had alway sdrifted a bit more than my diabolo 700) - I think this is mainly due to the size of the heli. Any idea what the reason could be for that hard drift? I really want to replace aldo BD3sx by spirit in my diabolo 700 and use spirit for my new diabolo 500 but I'm relly uncertain as I don't want risk a crash of a 3k EUR heli. BR Rainer |

Hello, first from all you can check whether piro optimization is configured correctly, if not it can cause serious rescue/stabilization problem. Helicopter size does not matter at all, it should be always perfect if all is OK. Can you tell me which place do you use to mount the unit on Protos? Is the unit mounted exactly perpendicular to all axes? |

Hi Thomas, pirouette optimiziation works perfectly - swash plate is tilted like a compass. Spirit is placed on the platform under the main shaft which is recommended by msheli This is exactly under the mainshaft and spirit is also positioned parallel to the longitudial axes of the model. The plate is also 100 % perpedicular to the mainshaft (especially designed for this purpos by msh). http://shop.msheli.it/Item.aspx?IDItem=327 I had microbeast, v-stabi and bd3sx also placed there without any troubles. Great, yes, if you have this part, then you can mount the unit under main shaft too. Stock Protos does not come with this part, so there is only option to place it on the boom holder. You can try to enable Extended signal processing if you can get better precision. If so, then it is most likely caused by vibrations. |

Thanks Thomas for the hint. This would also explain why bailout seemed to worked better/preciser in my first flights a week ago - maybe differend vibration levels due to the different temperature. I'll test this tomorrow and will also check fibs. thx thomas |

No problem. I have Protos 500 too and I know that there can be extreme vibrations, even higher than with Nitro helicopters. The key is to have perfectly balanced rudder and zero play in the tail case. Especially if you are using 18T pinion for Stretch it has the level even higher. You can use Vibration analysis to check the state - especially Y axis. Sometimes it is very hard to fix it, but with this analysis it can be very easy. |

hi, just checked vibs and I definitifely have some problems with vibs. Overall level seems to be o.k. with a value of26. But I seem to have a problem with the main gear/shaft/bearings head: peaks of 77 - 90 on rpm 2000 (33hz). So I will have to check out the reason for that. thx a lot Rainer |

Hi, I've no clue where the vibes have come from. Attachment: I have taken off the head from the main shaft and vibs have been gone. Attachment: Then I've reassembled the head to the main shaft and vibs have still been gone. Attachment: It's a miracle. I'm really keen on testing tomorrow whether drifting has also gone now - I'm really curious about it. thx again for the hint |

You can check 3 bearings that are holding main shaft. |

checked again and fibes are back again on that high level .So I will check the bearings. but how can vibes completely disappear and then come suddenly back again? |
