Post subject: | [SOLVED] Flip rates |
I'm more than happy with my spirit on my fusion 50, TT E360 and align 700E. I run quite low rates as I only sport fly and having low rates forces me to manage my collective better. I am installing one on a friends 700, he uses super fast mental rates for hard 3d. what is the best way to achieve this, I turned my CFF up from 5 to 10 on the 700 but it made very little if any to flip speeds. I assume I will need to up the sensor settings? But don't know how far I can take them as the manual says not too high. They are on 9 at the moment. To tell if they are too high I assume I have to look for cyclic ring limit reached? Ritchie |

Hi, thank you very much. For optimal settings, you can set Cyclic Ring range as much as possible, until binding occur. To change Flip Rates you should use Sensor tab/Rotation rates. You can increase it until you can't notice any difference between current and previous values and/or until you can see Cyclic Ring event in the log. Mostly helicopters are capable of values around 12 max. Spirit is capable of doing flips with 2000°/s in any axis which is impossible to do by any helicopter. So you shouldn't increase rotation rate higher than your helicopter is capable. With higher rates you can play with other parameters (Cyclic Feed Forward and Flight Style) to make precision and feeling better. But everyone need something different, so you can simply play with Banks, etc. CFF parameter is not intended to increase flip rates at all. |
