Just received my new Spirit Pro from Thomas yesterday and wow, that was fast! I am currently working on getting me XLPower 520 setup. I have the following:

• Spirit Pro
• Hobbywing Platinum 100A V3 ESC
• SPM4649T Serial Telemetry Receiver
• JETI integration cable

I currently have the Sat RX and the SPM4649T RX both bound to my TX. The SPM4649T is connected via the Jeti cable with the Orange wire in the AIL pin and the Red and Brown wires in the RUD port per the manual. The Sat RX is in the side Primary port.

My confusion is when I went to connect my ESC. Per the manual, it says to connect it using the same ports as the SPM4649T. I am sure I am missing something. Not sure if I need another cable, Y harness, etc?

Just trying to figure out what to do with the White/Red/Black connector and the Black/Red connector from the ESC. Not worried about the Orange wire connector since I am planning on using the governor in the Hobbywing ESC (I have the programming box).

Thank you for your help!

Brooks

OK, I think I was getting a little confused as I was looking at the page dedicated to the Hobbywing V3/V4 ESCs.

So after going back through the wiring guide in the manual, is this the correct way to connect the ESC:

• Red/Black/White wire (Throttle ESC) - AUX 1
• Red/Black wire (BEC) - AUX 2
• Orange wire - not needed if using the ESC governor

I have a feeling I am going to enjoy the FBL once it is set up, but I kind of miss the flybar setup process. I quit flying helis right when the FBL systems were coming out. Guess I'm getting old. Thank you your help.

Hello,

you are right. Your description is correct according the

The most difficult part would be probably to bind the SPM4649T receiver. Then it should all work.
Do not forget to assin Throttle channel in the Channels in order to activate AUX1 output.

Thank you. And when you say assigning the Throttle channel to AUX1, you are referring to doing this in the Spirit unit, correct?

Yes, in the General/Channels window you have to assign Throttle channel.

But actually when using SPM4649T it is assigned automatically :) So this is done by Spirit unit for you.
