Hi experts, after flying I noticed that the geolink LED was flashing continually I tried to connect to the unit to check the log but it would not connect I had this problem the previous time I tried to connect and put it down to the usb lead but have tried different leads with the same problem When I finally got the unit to connect it failed to connect to the geolink, only the update tab was highlighted so I tried to reload the firmware which failed and wouldn't work in recovery mode either, every time I try the Spirit reboots and I get a "connection unstable" message
On powering up the unit I get a single flash of the geolink LED then nothing . The spirit (red) unit starts as normal
Heli is a Logo 600sx and I have tested the anti-static wire and it has continuity from the belt roller to motor mount
HELP

Hi,
that is very sad.
Do you have any other Spirit unit to try with GeoLink? That condition should normally not happen if everything is OK.

Hi Tomas I have tried connecting to a different Spirit unit and with a different lead and have the same result One flash of the geolink led and shows not connected in the software Try to update firmware in recovery and as soon as the geolink is plugged in the spirit restarts and flashing failed message pops up Even when not connected to the software the spirit unit restarts when the geolink is plugged in
Prior to this I noticed a few strange things while flying . The heli would randomly go into rescue for a split second while in level flight especially inverted at any altitude . Also the altitude limit kept changing . Set at 2m and testing from a hover, some flights it worked perfectly others it almost touched down before rescue activated . It made no difference resetting the height to 3m At the end of the last flight I had a constant flashing blue led and the unit would not connect for me to check the log
I have another geolink on its way and will try this on the same heli when it arrives
Regards andy

Hello,
unfortunately with smaller Spirit units it is required to connect GeoLink quite fast. With Spirit Pro it is much easier. The unit should not reboot otherwise it will always fail.
If you have no Spirit Pro it will be better to send the GeoLink to us. We will repair it just in one day and see what is wrong.

HI Tomas I have tried with normal and pro units and even if I connect the geolink immediately after clicking recovery mode both units reboot and disconnect from the software. even when not trying to flash the firmware the spirit reboots as soon as I connect the geolink
I think I will have to send the geolink to you . Hopefully I can post it this week
Regards Andy

The point is you have to disconnect the cable first and then connect it again. Not to disconnect, then connect it after some time. The module must be powered from the beginning if you want to perform the recovery flashing. But after clicking the Flash button just reconnect the cable as fast as possible. This will work for sure.

Hi Tomas
I'm sure this is the way I have been doing it so just to be certain
1. power up unit with geolink connected (1 flash of blue led ) 2. open geolink software ( geolink shows not connected ) 3. open update tab, select firmware, attempt to flash firmware until recovery pop up opens 4. disconnect geolink from spirit 5. click on recovery button and immediately reconnect geolink ( at this point spirit reboots and flashing fails every time )
If this is wrong please treat me as an idiot and explain the correct procedure ( step by step ) as the manual does not explain this properly
Thanks for your help
Regards Andy

1. power up unit with geolink connected 2. open geolink software 3. open update tab, select firmware, attempt to flash firmware until recovery pop up opens 4. click on recovery button and immediately reconnect geolink - reconnect after clicking the Flash and OK buttons.
