Post subject:  [SOLVED] Can someone explain piro speed and how to increase

I have built many Helis only to have slow piro speed when using the Spirit .
#1 goblin 570 kst 905x tail rudder set at 20 which is max , slow piro speed
#2 goblin 700 kst 805x tail rudder set to 20 , again slow piro speed
#3 goblin 700 triple head and tail kst 805x tail rudder set to 20 , slow piro speed
#4 goblin 700 triple tail only kst 805x rudder set to 20 , slow piro speed
#5 Align 800 Align 855 rudder set to 4 yes it’s 4 and piro rate way to fast ( go figure )
#6 another Align 800 Align servo 855 set to 20 very slow piro rate
SO WHATS GOING ON HERE
I even changed servos around same outcome . All tail sliders do fall on their own weight when Heli is on the side so there is definitely no mechanical issue .

The only limiting factor is how you will configure the Rudder End-points.
Are you using Head-Lock gyro mode, right?

It should be already very fast at value of 12. Higher values than 13 are really not recommended even for hard 3D flying.

Yes head lock gyro mode. Rudder endpoints Are bang on full left and right . On the heli which is super fast at 4 I don’t even have endpoints to the max I keep changing it , so it wouldn’t be lightning fast . I have even tried not maxing endpoints on the other Helis and it’s still the same slow piro . If videos are needed I can send some to show how slow piros are . But that would have to be in the spring it’s winter here , unless we get some nice weather .

In diagnostics tab for slow models, does Spirit see full rudder travel on the channel?

Well, correctly it should be super slow at value of 4 :) So it is not correct on all models.

Is your rudder channel travel from -100% to 100% in the Diagnostic tab?

800 #1 Diagnostic - 100% left and right
Rudder endpoints - 146-162
Rotation speed - 5
Rudder delay - 5
Rudder Dynamic - 6
Pirouette Consistency - 175
this has super fast piro speed 2X faster than a Beastx

800 #2 Diagnostic - 100% L-R
endpoints - 134-132
Rotation speed - 20
Rudder delay - 0
Rudder Dynamic - 6
Pirouette Consistency - 180
very slow piro speed

Goblin 700 3 Blade head and tail
Diagnostic - 100% L-R
Endpoints - 140 - 150
Rotation Speed - 20
Rudder Delay - 2
Rudder Dynamic - 5
Pirouette Consistency - 190
very slow piro speed

Goblin 770 3Blade tail
Diagnostic - 100% L-R
Endpoints - 134-149
Rotation Speed - 20
Rudder Delay - 3
Rudder Dynamic - 6
Pirouette Consistency - 180
very slow piro speed
I have played with many of the settings and things have not changed .
The Align 800 that is to fast i have changed endpoints so that i do not get full travel of slidder measured
its 4mm away from full endpoints .
Unless there is something else im doing wrong please chime in , this is to all other Heli fliers please discuss your
piro speeds and settings or even Videos of the rotation speed .

I recommend to check whether the Gyro is really in Head Lock in the Diagnostic tab. Can you see Head Lock under the Gyro bar?

Setting up 20 for rotation speed is really not good idea in whatever case. While setting value of 5 should be really extremely slow.

So in all cases it is working wrong and I suspect that your Gyro is not in HL mode. Since you are the first pilot ever who is having troubles like this, I guess there is some issue like this.

Is this with a different Spirit units, right? Not the same one.

Than I guess I’m the only pilot with a slow piro rate .
Yes I’m in Head Lock mode .
Now the crazy thing is if I plug my FBL into the laptop , and let’s say check setting and don’t power down the Heli before flight ( which you shouldn’t do ) than the piro rate is fast . Once I power down the FBL and power back up the piro rate is back to where it was ( slow )

So I guess you have something like special function configured, but you forget about it.
Or there are different rotation speeds configured in the banks.

Without a settings files it is hard to tell.

Will im back and feel like a fool .
In the last post by Tomas when he stated i must have ( rotation speed active in different banks ) it got me thinking
about it . pulled out the manual and had another look . Guess what i found, in the SENSOR TAB at the bottom of the page on the right hand corner you have Active Bank Settings .Now nowhere in the manual does it state that you can change the piro rotation speed in different banks configured. ( at least i didnt see it )
All this time when i was changing the rotation speed it was only changing it on bank 0 which i dont use .
i use bank 1 therefore i was on default settings.
I flew all 6 helis yesterday that have Spirits in them and they fly awesome.
Im very sorry Tomas for wasting your time . THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP, your help is much appreciated and what you have done for the hobby.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK
