I'm setting up a new Spirit Pro with Geolink andI'm struggling with the binding process. Individually all of the directions make sense however once you start introducing variables things become much less clear. I started the install with just two DSMX satellites and the binding process worked fine. Once I introduced the Geolink I had to reconfigure the satellites with the Multi Adapter. I got that to setup to bind also but wasn't crazy about the wiring and was having trouble getting a clean installation with the multi adapter. I'm also using the Wi-Fi module and a dual output BEC and was quickly becoming frustrated with the lack of available connection options for all of the connections needed. The Spirit unit seems great but with all of the available accessories it seems to be outgrowing it's current configuration. Onboard Wi-Fi and or Bluetooth as well as a dedicated Geolink input port would help with this. I decided to try and simplify my setup by adding a Spektrum SPM4649T receiver and eliminate one of the two DSMX satellites and the Wi-Fi link. I've now got the remaining satellite plugged into the Primary port and the Geolink into the secondary. The SPM4649T has the Spirit JETI integration cable plugged into it's Bind port and is then plugged into the Spirits rudder port and the orange lead plugged into Aileron pin. Now what? I've tried everything I can think of with no luck. In the software you need to select DSMX or SRXL. Which do you select...the sat is DSMX but the 4649T is SRXL right? To bind DSMX you need to put a bind plug in the ELE/PIT/AIL port but the Integration cable is already plugged into the Ail pin, I assume you unplug it for the bind process and then reconnect it? Lastly the servo lead from the 4649T normally plugs into the FBL unit and the other female connector is for binding. On the Spirit the integration cable goes into the "Bind" port and then plugs into the RUD port and AIL pin on the Spirit leaving the normal male connector on the 4649T unused? It all seems so contradictory.....regardless I've been unable to get it to bind with this configuration, please tell me the secret.

Hello,

I understand your problem. The reason you are having troubles is requirement to use the Spektrum satellites instead of normal receiver that is recommended in any way by Spektrum.
With for example AR7700 receiver all would be just fine.

SPM4649T is actually not true SRXL receiver - this is little bit incorrectly stated by Spektrum.

You can always do every step independently of others so yes, to bind the Spektrum satellite you have to do it first. So binding satellites should be done before connecting anything additional.
Since SPM4649T is an addition it is considered everything basic was done previously. Then proceeding according the guide for Spektrum integration will tell you how to do this.

There you can find how binding of the SPM4649T can be performed.

Quote:
In case that your SPM4649T receiver is not bound yet, you can do so by a Bind plug. Connect the Bind plug to the servo socket. Then power up the receiver (you can use BEC power supply and/or free port in the unit such as CH0 or AUX2). Optional satellites can be bound normally as described in the Manual.

So actually you can bind the SPM4649T even completely without the Spirit unit. Only bind plug + power from BEC is needed. That is way how Spektrum designed it.
SPM4649T has two connectors without a difference except male/female. It is just like an Y-cable. So you could use any of these connectors to perform the same thing.
For example you can use connector not intended for binding for binding process.
