Post subject: | Throttle Servo Connection |
Hi All. Just setting up my first flybarless and I have a Spirit on a TRex 600n DFC I have everything working OK, but I cannot seem to find in the manual (or anywhere) much info regarding the nitro throttle and governor setup. I cannot even get the throttle servo working from the Spirit. Where does the throttle servo connect to? Cheers, Jim My setup is: Futaba T16SZ, Futaba R2008SB HV over S-Bus Spirit controller Futaba S3470SV for throttle Spartan Governor Sensor. |

Hi, you can find the details in our manual and also Spirit Settings. Please check this page: http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... TOR_WIRING |

I have tried connecting the servo to the AUX connector as per the description in your link, and I have also assigned throttle to channel 1 in the rx settings page. The throttle servo just doesnt move - it doesnt even seem to have any power from the AUX port. If I plug it directly into the RX it moves OK, but I want to use the governor function. Is there anything else I should look at? Jim. |

Is your receiver connection working with Spirit unit? You can check it in the Diagnostic tab. You will see a movement of the channels. If your radio is off then the servo will behave as a dead. Other explanation could be that the servo is connected in the opposite way. It should also move when you connect it to any other position such as CH1,2,3,4. |

Hi. When I move the Tx throttle I see the throttle bar moving on the diagnostics screen. If I connect the throttle servo to say CH1, then it will move with the cyclic. If I connect it directly to the Rx then it moves ok. It seems that the AUX output is not working or some reason. Jim |

I just checked and there is about +8v between the power pins of the AUX connector. |

Very well. Please make sure that the Throttle channel is really assigned in the General/Channels window. If changing Receiver type it will unassign. |

Hi So I checked that the Throttle channel is set to 1, and it says it is. I tried changeing it to another channel and then back again - no change, I have now put a S148 servo on the aux connector - on power up, the Spirit drives the servo completely CCW where is stays, buzzing. Nothing I can do changes this. The other S3470SV servo still works fine directly connected to the Rx but is totally dead on the Spirit AUX connector. Very strange - any more ideas for me? Cheers, Jim |

maybe the throttle frequency/pulse is not the right one for the servo you connected ? NOTE1 the spirit throttle actually support 1520μs servos NOTE2 the S148 just support 4.8V - 6.0V ... you wrote you have 8V so be careful NOTE3 the S3470SV is SBUS2 servo, are you sure it will work with pwm signal ? |

What throttle servos are people using generally? urgno wrote: NOTE2 the S148 just support 4.8V - 6.0V ... you wrote you have 8V so be careful Yes thanks. I have used a 6v NiMh when testing with the S148. urgno wrote: NOTE3 the S3470SV is SBUS2 servo, are you sure it will work with pwm signal ? I knew it was SBUS2, but it works fine direct from a PWM port on the Rx, so I was thinking that proved its suitability. Is this not the case perhaps? Thanks very much for your input, Jim |
