Post subject: | Tail gain settings on Speed |
I have a Gaui R5 Speed model that has been flying very well for many flights now, however I would like to experiment with using settings that do not completely lock the tail so rigidly in flight so that the tail of the model will weathervane a bit in the Speed run. The model uses very small tail blades considering its size to reduce parasitic drag, so I dont think full on rate mode is a good idea as I dont want to be chasing the tail all over the place as soon as the model lifts off. A sudden load change could potentially cause a spin in this case if not moving in FFF What would be suggested in the case? Simply lower the P gain as far as possible without bad behavior by running the lowest value that I can get away with in my TX, or keep the P gain where it is currently and lower the I gain using the piro consistency value as much as possible? Thanks! |

I recommend to decrease Pirouette Consistency by 10-25 points. Then to add some Revomix which should help during load. This will eliminate any possible oscillation even during very high speed. Decreasing Gyro Gain little bit can be also helpful. |
