Post subject: | uSpirit + Geolink problem |
Hi, I have a 230S Heli and was using the uSpirit. It works great. I added the Geolink and I have intermittent problems, i have taken a few days to try to understand what is happening and get to the bottom of it without success. The geolink RTH and position hold stops working. I connect the FBL to my pc and I have seen the FBL stops recording the flights. I tried reloading the version in the FBL and do calibration of geolink and reload the firmware and the geolink will restart. I have not found a pattern to reproduce. I had issues of seing low voltage messages in the uSpirit with older battery’s and one high vibration message. Could the loss of voltage have corrupted any memory ? When I had low voltage I saw the servis go up and down in the air... What can i do / test next ? Here is a picture where you see the wires from FBL to geolink it’s not near the ESC that controls the tail motor I don’t think they’re is interferences. Hi, oh, that is sad. First from all you can try to clear all the flight logs in the GeoLink - this can be done in the Log List - Clear logs. Low Voltage message is not ocurring when main battery voltage is low but when BEC voltage drops under 1.9V. So this is quite big drop from 5 - 6V that are usually used. If the BEC tester can pass and no event like this is in the Spirit log then it should be fine. So if I am right you are able to reproduce the problem always? And RTH nor Position Hold are working anymore. There should be no memory corruption possible. |

Hi Thomas see my answers inline ZeXx86 wrote: Hi, oh, that is sad. First from all you can try to clear all the flight logs in the GeoLink - this can be done in the Log List - Clear logs. P:i did clear the logs and tried to have a flight recorded and nothing appears. Low Voltage message is not ocurring when main battery voltage is low but when BEC voltage drops under 1.9V. So this is quite big drop from 5 - 6V that are usually used. P:I is the V2 230S ESC with BEC from blade si to make sure I used the BEC tester feature with the main motor running and the tail motor was on and off with no more low battery signal so BEC should be ok. I tested in flight as well by turning on and off the rescue button for pitch change. If the BEC tester can pass and no event like this is in the Spirit log then it should be fine. P:no more power loss events So if I am right you are able to reproduce the problem always? And RTH nor Position Hold are working anymore. P:yes it will not flash the FBL light to register the position and the log won’t work. There should be no memory corruption possible. To réactivite I did force a calibration but I did as well reload the firmware. I propose to try the calibration again and see what happens. Any low level log I can capture for you ? You saw where my wire is in the picture they’re should not be interferences. Any other proposition ? Thanks Thomas and sorry for this abnormal problem Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Hello, I am afraid that another calibration will not help. What would help is a flight log from the GeoLink when the problem ocurred. Please note that we are working hard on a new firmware that will help to find any possible issue in GeoLink connection. So that we will then know what is causing the performance problems. |

Thanks Thomas, I will try to reroute the wiring so it is far from the tail motor wires and we what happens. You new version with more debug features will probably pinpoint it. Thanks for the support ! Envoyé de mon iPhone en utilisant Tapatalk |

Hi, i used the windows and firmware version you posted in another "RTH" thread on my configuration and i had the message about using the backup oscilator at boot up. The RTH does not work, i can't program it with the switch and when i try to use it it won't work 00:00 Calibration Finished Rudder Limit Reached Backup Oscillator is used 00:10 Good Health Message 00:20 Good Health Message 00:30 Good Health Message 00:40 Cyclic Ring Activated 00:50 Cyclic Ring Activated I am adding the logfile and the 3 configuration files to this message. What do you suggest i do ? I have a second new geolink in the box, is the oscillator in the geolink or the uSpirit ? I could change the geolink and see what happens, i will wait for your answer. Thanks in advance, i really hope we can find out what is happening.

Yep, I was the other person having the same problem you are having. I truly hope Thomas will fix the Geolink. This has potential to be an awesome idea. If return to home works, I would be able to not worry about losing orientation and if I do, I can just flip a switch to get the helicopter back. I can't wait until this is fixed. This problem is also on the regular Spirit as well. Hopefully, that means it can be fixed on the Geolink end. |

Xform, i am sure Thomas will find it out, i had issues with my tail motor and he did enhance the feature in the last upgrade. Now that my heli works better, it's time to use the RTH, i have so much wind here that the heli sometime flys out and it's a lot of stress to get it back. I want as well to use the min max height setting. |
