Post subject: | BK servos with Spirit fbl |
I am building an Oxy 4 model and using KST DS215MG V3.0 servos for cyclic and was thinking of going with a BK DS-3005 HV for the tail servo, but that some pilots were having issues with certain BK servos when used with Spirit fbl units. I’m not sure if the micro servo I would like to use is in that uncooperative list or if it works okay the Spirit fbl’s. I would appreciate any feedback from pilots who have tried this combination and how it worked for them. Thanks in advance, Kevin |

I personally do not recommend any BK servo at the moment. Reported issues are known among all FBL systems and aircrafts, although it is rather dependent on used model. We believe they are working on fix, but if you wish just smooth operation we recommend any other brand. The most preferably MKS, Savox, Align. |

Does the issue apply to all BK Servos? I just upgraded my Goblin 630 (using Spirit Pro) to BK DS-7002HV on cyclic & BK DS-7006HV on the tail. I did not fly yet with the new servos, still setting everything up... Do i put my model at risk if i give it a try and see how it is in the air? |

I'm currently running the bk 7001 servos on the swash and 7006 on the tail and have had no issues.

Usually everything is OK, but there are cases when it is not. These cases are relatively frequent when you compare it with other brands. But still there are Spirit units on thousands of models and many are running BK without any problem. Generally they are very good. |

Just out of curiosity, what are the issues people are seeing? ZeXx86 wrote: Usually everything is OK, but there are cases when it is not. These cases are relatively frequent when you compare it with other brands.

Random jittering when touching the servo cases, unexpected loosing of the throw when flying just for a few miliseconds, no movement after power up, oscillations when changing collective pitch between positive/negative due to jittering, only partial servo range, etc. |

I am one that has had trouble with the BK servos and will be changing it out on my Goblin 570 , the cyclic servos are fine , it’s only the rudder servos that will give you trouble |

I think I might try the slightly more expensive MKS HV93I dedicated tail servo for my current OXY 4 build. I previously used the KST DS215MG V3.0 cyclic servos (all 4) on my OXY 3 Stretch and they worked great, but wanted to try something new on this build. Thanks guys, Kevin |

We highly recommend Micro MKS servos, especially DS95 and DS95i. But DS93 is working very well too. |
