Post subject: | "Weakness" of right rudder |
Hello all together, I flew yesterday with my TRex 550X (Spirit Pro, Setup mostly default settings). Wind speed was approximately 25 km/h. After or while a climb with full pitch I wanted to make a rudderturn to right side, but the heli did not or only very slowly react to the input. Left rudderturn was o.k. I tried then rudderturns in both directions in normal pitch positions and all was o.k. Is this “weakness” of right rudder a normal behavior because of the torque of mainrotor or have I to change my setup? Thank´s in advance for every hint and with best regards Roland |

Hello, this could happen, if the head speed is too low / rudder efficiency is too low. If it is mechanical issue, you can only increase the RPM or use a longer tail blades. If it is configuration related, then you can increase Pirouette Consistency by 10 - 20 points to make it better. It depends on what RPM you are flying? |

Hello Tomas, thank You very much for the quick reply. Align offers für this Heli tail blades with 90 mm and 95 mm. I ´m the 95´s. Head Speed RPM was 2000 rounds in Spirit Governor Mode. I think, I will try to increase Pirouette Consistency and will give a feedback then With best regards Roland |

You can try to increase to 2200 - 2300 RPM. This should be optimal headpseed for this helicopter. For 3D they are using even 2500. |
