Pretty sure inhave a doa unit. No lightup when bec plugged into aux 1. Wont come through sys port with usb or bluetooth. Bluetooth unit talks to phone but not to fbl. Plugging same bec into a different fbl it fires right up. This is on an Oxy4. Hobbywing 60 v4. When i built this bird a put a microbeast on it. I had ordered a spirit pro for it to start but it was too big. I ordered this to replace the micro beast. This is my 4th unit. 2 reg one u and ine pro and first to present any issues. Please advise. Oddly now my laptop wont talk to my other units. I tried a reg and a spirit pro. See attached photo. It sticks on that screen. They will talk to my android via blue tooth though just not the pc. Tried 2 different cables. Thesebother units lightup/initilaize etc and seem fine. The new one shows no lights. After using it seems to have knocked out coms to my other units? That is very sad. Was the unit very new? We are testing each unit prior the shipping so there was no possibility the unit was not working. Unfortunately it really look as it does not work now. So we have to find what is wrong. Do you have a multimeter? If for example USB interface was plugged in any powering port (other than SYS and ELE/PIT/AIL), then it could damage it so it may not work anymore. But if you have other USB interface, then it should work. If that happened, then connecting damaged USB interface will trigger protection in your computer so until you will not plug it off and reboot your computer other USB interfaces might not work too. Could you try it with other interface? We will find what happened. In any case we can fix any problem and damage so please dont worry. |

Unit brand new. Just opened last night. DOA = Dead on arrival. Yes I have a mulimeter. I have a recently calibrated Fluke 381. I have a nist traceable calibration cert for it. I tried 2 different usb intefaces last night. I can try another this am. This is my 4th one so I have another I can try still. I can say power was making it across the pos/neg rail without the meter. Reason I say this is because when the usb wouldnt work I unplugged it and plugged in a bluetooth module. It worked on both units when the usb wouldnt. What am i measuring for with the meter? I recommend to not plug the USB interface in the unit that does not work. First you can try some that is working. (better to reboot computer before). Rebooting will reset possible USB protection if it was triggered. Next thing that you can check with the bad unit is to power it and observe the status LED during connection of the BEC/battery. Possibly you might see fast flash of the status LED. If so, then this is good sign and can be fixed by you. When you connected the unit for the first time, do you remember what was all connected to the unit? Did you connected also telemetry cable? If yes, was it the Telem UNI cable? You can measure resistance between GND and two signal pins of the SYS port. There should be MOhm resistance normally (you can compare it with other units). So one probe should be at the bottom pin (closest to the edge) and other probe to the middle pin and then the top pin. You can also verify if there is a resistance between powering pins (any middle pin except from SYS and ELE/PIT/AIL ports) and GND. This should make things more clear. Thank you for the assistance. |

Yes makes it clear what to test. I will get around to it this weekend hopefully. I ordered another unit and it arrived yesterday. So i should be able to put my bird back in the air regardless next i have time to try. Thanks for the insight on checking pinout. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk |
