Post subject:  Hobbywing 120a v4 signal wire and bec wire

Hi all,
I'll start off by saying im very green when it comes to setting up a fbl system. I have successfully programmed a couple ar7200 units and thats it.

Im wondering what do I do with the rpm signal wire and the separate bec wire on a HW 120a esc? Im running a HW ubec so Im not pulling bec power from the esc. I have the red wires disconnected from both leads. Im also not sure about governor use which I suppose the signal wire is used for. When I was using the ar7200 with the HW esc I didnt use a governor, I just used an 80% throttle curve strait across and it worked well for me. I am not a 3D pilot and actually this setup is for a scale fuselage 600. I fly very soft and non aggressive! I would like to have the spirit setup similar to the 7200 because that is what I am used to. I switched to the spirit for the bailout which I suppose I will have more setup questions at a later time.

Any help with this will be much appreciated!
Thanks!
Mike

I would run the RPM wire to the Spirit, even if you don't want to use governor, you can still use it to check your headspeed and/or for telemetry.

The separate BEC, well, that one is really not needed if you use an external BEC.

Thanks coco,

Where would I plug in the RPM wire?

As clearly stated in the manual
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... n#GOVERNOR
(which is a MUST read) the PIT pin (the middle of ELE/PIN/TAIL on Spirit and Spirit Pro, the "P" of P/E/A on a uSpirit).
