I'm using a uSpirit on a Blade 230S. The Heli now flies fine except for Rescue. When I hit rescue it
climbs but not level it climbs with back elevator almost the point of doing a back flip. If I give it full collective it climbs straight up. I have 2 Spirit Pros and have not had this happen on those. Any thoughts Tomas ?

Hello,

please check this page:
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... ise_Rescue

These small helicopters could create very high vibrations at the frequencies that could affect the gyros much more than a bigger models. So it is important to check this in each axis.
Otherwise it should be exactly as precise as with Spirit Pro.

But first from all please make sure that in the Diagnostic tab aileron, elevator, rudder, collective pitch bars are moving according the stick movement (especially direction).
And also that you have not used e.g. collective reverse in the software.

Yes I have just double checked everything in Diagnostic page and all controls are working correct direction. I have check it for vibrations without blades and it looked good.
Yes I have collective reverse checked in software because it's a Blade they use the trailing edge for pitch so yes it's reversed collective in the software. I changed the blade grip to leading edge and unchecked reverse collective, rescue is now some what better.
I have attached in flight vibration analysis it's high but is it TOO HIGH ?
If so I start looking for a solution.
Thanks Tomas

Well, it is not good.
The biggest issue is that there is some resonance vibration which is causing spikes all over the plot. This is the worst type of vibration.
It is one which causes buzzing or some noise that shouldn't be there.
Apparently the biggest problem is on the main shaft.
Normally no spike should be higher than half of the plot. This one is probably at 400% :)

Replaced Main shaft, main bearings and main gear nothing left but the frame.
Still no rescue improvement. New Vibration files attached Y axis is without blades.

Got a smoking deal on a Helioption CF frame Hobbytown wanted to get rid of it.
So here are new plots with new Aluminum and CF frame new main shaft and main gear.
So have a backwards rescue but level if I give full positive collective.
Still have vibrations without the head on.
At a loss what to try next !!

Hello,

I would check if the motor and main gear is not too close or too far. Gears are usually not perfectly circular so this can cause a high stress too.
To reduce the vibrations you could try to balance the blades - some kits are supplied with some stickers for the blades - this could be a big issue. The higher the RPM, the bigger level of vibrations. So imprecise balancing could do a lot, even that it is that small model.
If you will be unable to make it work, enable the Extended signal processing in the Expert settings. This should reduce effect of the vibration.

Unfortunately this level is really far from good. 100% already mean, that screws can unscrew even with thread lock - this is actually quite common with the small helicopters.
Tommorow I can post analysis plot of our Oxy 2 model for comparison.

Removed u spirit to move for c.g. adjustment.
White tape supplied with u spirit had already dried out.
Switched to Spirit Pro mounting tape. Will this tape be ok ?

Sorry for late response.

The tape should work well too.

I would like to ask you what receiver you are using? (since it could be related to your problem)
