This is my first time using the Spirit and set up was easy having read up and followed this forum here and on HeliFreak. I bought the Oxy 3 255 used with only a few flights on it. Never been crashed, etc. I tore the entire heli down and rebuilt it. I finally had a chance to maiden it a few days ago. I was expecting it to be rock solid but found that the tail doesn't hold well and has a slow wag. I know the Oxy's need a few break in flights so I didn't worry about it too much. I've been through about 5 batteries of hovering, pitch pumps, around the yard, etc.
The tail still has a slow small wag maybe an 1 - 1.5 inches not constantly but very frequent. I've upped the tail gain from 40-85 so far with no seen difference. I also changed the piro consistency to 170. I took the entire tail apart and couldn't find anything mechanically wrong. The tail moves freely throughout its entire travel.
I remembered the analyzer in the software and decided to give it a try. On the elevator and yaw axis all the vibes are below 15 magnitude across the entire spectrum. On the aileron axis it is showing between 70-90 magnitude coming from the head around the 3200-3500 rpm. That is with the main blades off the heli and the tail blades on. I've spent several hours taking the main gear, shaft, motor etc apart and checking for any problems. With the motor backed off of the main gear the vibes return to below 15 magnitude on the scale. I assumed the vibrations had to be coming from the main gear area then. The one way bearing is smooth and works correctly. The main gear looks to run true with no out of round. I put it all back together and took it for a very quick hover a few minutes ago. The tail still does not hold perfectly, after 10 seconds or so the tail will drift a bit. It did seem like the tail wag was a bit improved. It didn't seem to be as frequent. Pitch pump still has the tail blowing out 25-30 degrees.
I'm using the Hobbywing 50 v3 governor if that makes any difference. It was rock solid on my Forza 450. I have tried headspeeds between 3100-4000 rpms (approximately). Let me know what you think I should try next. Thanks!
Edit: I'm running KST215MG servos all around. Here are my settings:
