I'm looking at getting either the Bluetooth or WiFi link. Is there any advantage to one over the other ? My guess is if I wanted something for field tuning the Bluetooth would be best as WiFi requires the unit to be in range of my network. Do both offer the same features or does one vary from the other in some way ? |

Hello, Wifi-Link has much more possibilities, can be connected with the PC software, but do not require any installed app, can be used anywhere with any device, has better range, better connection protection, ... No, you do not need any other network for Wifi-Link. It can work as AP and Client. By default you can connect to it directly with your phone/tablet/... without any configuration. On the other hand BT module is probably more simple to work with. |

You can't update the unit with the Bluetooth Modul, but with the Wifi-Link you can. Bluetooth need a switch to turn off, or disconnect the power. WiFi-Link has a automatic turn off function. |

Wifi module turns off automatically? How does this work? When spirit is active in flight? |

No, you define timeout. If there is no activity within this interval, WiFi is turned off Odesláno z mého D5803 pomocí Tapatalk |

I guess I would be better off asking here in the future. I ordered the Wi-Fi link anyway thinking I could always make a network in the field by tethering my Android phone and having the unit connected to that network. It works fine with my Wi-Fi printer when I don't have access to a network. Envoyé de mon SM-G920W8 en utilisant Tapatalk |

Normally you would not need that, the simplest use of the Spirit WiFi module is having the module expose and serve a WiFi network and your phone connecting to it. It acts as a hotspot (or AP as ZeXx86 mentioned). In case you need Internet at thesame time, then you can do it the other way around, like you said, with your mobile tethering or with your home wifi. Just more complicated and rigid to setup. |

The more I learn, the more I'm excited. I can't wait to get my first unit(uSpirit). Thank you for your explanation. Envoyé de mon SM-G920W8 en utilisant Tapatalk |
