Post subject:  [SOLVED] Diagnostic Tab Question

I am seeing some strange values in the diagnostic tab and have a couple of questions. The bar indicators, are they showing me the input signals from my transmitter? Also the sensor readings on the diagnostic tab, are they showing me the outputs to my servos?
Thanks

Well, you probably missed the whole point of the Diagnostic tab, which is to help you tune your TX so to make sure Spirit gets the correct info, so of course whst it shows is the TX input. Point 5.3 here:
http://manual.spirit-system.com/index.p ... NOSTIC_TAB

Sensor readings are showing the displacement that the sensors feel in that moment. Grab the heli and move it across the different planes and you'll get it.

Or do you mean that after setting up, without touching the sticks you see values changing?

Well first off, I have setup many spirit units on different helicopters and have been using spirit units very shortly after they were released. Never had problems setting one up. I understand the point of the diagnostic tab but details like the sensor values I was not sure what they are telling me. Nothing in the manual about them. The reason I am asking is because I am seeing a 1.5 degree difference in my cyclic throw. I then noticed that when I move my sticks that my servos go from 0 to full throw in the first 30% of the stick travel. My sticks are all setup correctly according to the diagnostic tab. Maybe this is a normal thing because the spirit unit is expecting the helicopter to move in that direction but it doesn't. Never noticed this before but wasn't looking because I have not had problems like this before. Any thoughts?

If it's your servos doing that, on the bench, that's perfectly fine, as you guessed, in an FBL unit.

If you see that on the Diagnostic screen, then it does not sound good.

About the 1.5 degrees difference in your cyclic throw... talking about Diagnostic or about a difference in the measured cyclic pitch on the heli?

Flying with latest 2.3.1 FW. I looked at diagnostics as well.
After Init Sensors shows 0 0 0, giving ELV or AIL on TX Numbers go up like 40, but come back to 0 after 4-5 Sek. Rud stays, if I move Rud on TX. Makes sense, as Rud is Head Lock, while TS is kind of normal Mode.
Moving helicopter shows also Sensor numbers rising. I guess whats seen is kind of Difference what TX is requesting and heli is doing.
So if you move Sticks but heli is not moving, number rise, if you move heli but don't move sticks, numbers rise. This is what FBL should correct.
Saying so, if you got Sensors numbers while Heli is not moving, you might got some TX signal (trim not exactly 0%) or your gyros do drift.

As Coco said, deflection of TS itself, based on a giving TX Input, is pending on different parameters like Cyclic Ring, Rotation speed, Geometry, PID....FBL tries to follow you inputs based on these parameters. Think of TS moves to the right but Heli does not, so more right TS move will be added, even you just give moderate input on Stick to the right. How fare TS moves right - left I would not care to much, as long as it flyes well. Just make sure you did Servo travel correction as well, it relay makes a difference to give Servos a selection type of character to allow same travel on each of them.

Ok guys thanks for the input here
Coco I am seeing this difference on my pitch gauge. My elevator numbers are perfect. One other thing is that this is my first time setting up a new helicopter using a Horus radio running Opentx. Still learning it so maybe there is a problem there. I just wanted to make sure that what I was seeing is normal on the spirit unit.
Thanks
