Post subject:  MacBook does not recognize Spirit

Hello,

this is my first Spirit. At first I wanted to do a firmware update. So I have connected the USB cable (Spirit Pro: "SYS"). I have also installed the Mac software and the drivers. But when I start the software it says: "Interface was not detected". What's wrong?

Kind regards

Chris

Hello Chris,

did you downloaded and installed this driver:
http://spirit-system.com/dl/driver/SiLa ... erDisk.dmg ?

After the installation, you have to restart the MacBook.
Then when you will start the software again, you have to see a Device in the Connection tab of the software.

By the way we are shipping updated units, so if you have unit from us, you do not have to update it.
If the firmware in the unit is outdated, you will be noticed by the software automatically.

Hi!

Thank you very much for your posting. I could solve the problem. I have reinstalled the driver, then it worked.

Another question: I have got three Futabas BLS175SV (cyclic) and one BLS276SV (tail). I do not know which frequency I should take. Futaba says:

175SV = 50-330Hz
276SV = 500Hz

The spirit does not have these exact values.

Thank you!

Great, you are welcome.
We recommend 200Hz for cyclic and 333Hz for rudder.
Do not forget that for rudder you have to set 760us center pulse (we recommend to set it before you will connect the servo).

Thank you so much!

If it possible, I will ask some questions later when the system is installed.

I have got another open question. I have installed the spirit now. The cyclic servos ran the wrong way, so I have turned them in the menu "Servos" (CH1, CH2, CH3). But now Pitch is running incorrect. Where shall I reverse Pitch?

First from all you have to make sure that movement in the Diagnostic tab is correct for the sticks (including direction).
Is this correct?

When you will proceed according the Setup wizard it will tell you what to do.

Hi,

yes, in diagnostic tab is everything correct. That's why I played in the tabs "Servos" and "Advanced". I had to reverse CH1, 2 and 3 and reverse collective pitch in the tab "Advanced". Now it works. I am just wondering why I have to reverse all four.

What is your model? There are only a few models that really need to reverse Collective pitch. Otherwise it must be unselected, else it will not work properly.

What can be the reason? Wrong Swashplate type configured in the unit and/or servos are plugged incorrectly.
What will happen if you will unselect CH1/CH2/CH3? Then the collective direction must be good also with no Collective direction reverse.

In any way, all bars in the Diagnostic tab must correspond to the real stick movement, including directions.

I have got the Zenyt (from PSG Dynamics). This is the manual:

http://www.psg-dynamics.de/zenyt-377.ht ... 201016.pdf

I fly mode 2 (cylic on the right stick; tail and collective pitch on the left). But I fly collective different than most other pilots. When I push the left stick forward, then collective goes down. If I pull the left stick to me, then the heli goes up. (IMHO this system has more to do with original helis.)

May you look into the manual of the Zenyt. The left servo is in my Spirit in port CH1. The right servo is in port CH3. Maybe it should be vice versa? The Zenyt is a bit specific.

My swash plate type is also okay (H1; mechanical).
