Post subject:  [SOLVED] How to add a buffer pack to Pro with Kontronik Esc

Hi Guys
Im a noob with Spirit fbl unit. Just got the Pro & I see that there's
2 Aux ports available. With Kontronik esc there's a master & a slave
bec cable. Here I would presume that master is to be connected to
Aux 1 & slave to Aux 2. Is this correct ? Now if I were to connect a
2s buffer pack what is the correct way to add this , via receiver or ?
Btw will be using Jeti Rex 3 receiver for this heli

Thanks in advance

Hi Coco
Thanks & yes I understand the connection but as mentioned
Aux 1 & 2 will be taken up by master & slave cable from Esc or
are you saying that I should not connect slave cable at all ?

Thks

Master - Spirit AUX1
Slave - Spirit AUX2 or CH0
Buffer Pack - Spirit AUX2 or CH0
(use a switch to disconnect the Buffer)

Many thanks for the advice Buell.
Re buffer pack is it ok to use just
a 2S lipo pack ?
I see that your using J Log have a
couple of 2.5 which I've never installed
since purchased, are you connecting
to esc as well ? Im using a Jeti Dc 16
with Rex receiver & am advice to go
with Ex Bus so am wondering if J log
can be connected to Rex receiver instead

Many thanks again for your guidance
Cheers

Yes of course, a small 450mAh 2S-Lipo should be okay for a Autorotation. This size I used first.
Later I switched to a 850mAh Pack, because you can tweak your settings for a longer time at home without using the big flight Lipo. :-)

I use JLog 2.6GW with my Kosmik 200. You need the right JLog Firmware for that and some settings in the Kosmik and Jlog.
You can connect the JLog to the REX receiver to the EXT-Port.
Spirit goes via EX-Bus to the E1/E2 Port.

Kosmik Settings:
BEC Voltage > 7,7 till 8V
- 7,7 volt = Lipo is all the time on storage condition. Good for the Lipo, but less mAh
- I would suggest, Use 8 Volt with a 450mAh or use 7,7 for a 850mAh
- precharge the Buffer-lipo to the chosen voltage (only if empty)

Merry Xmas & thanks for the advice
Question , my Futaba servos are rated at
7.4 v what worries me is if I set Kosmik
bec to 8 v would servo reliability become
an issue .

Many Thanks

Oh Sorry, thought you have HV-Servos.
In this case you should use a 2 LiFePo Akku (BEC Voltage: 6,6 – 7 V)

They are HV servos Bruell, BLS 272 HV but spec states 7.4v
so Im a little cautious on going to 8v

Thanks again

I do not recommend 8V, this can be too high. Also you will rather not observe a noticeable difference in the flight characteristics.
