I have a problem with one of my Spirits. I crashed a 450 due to servo malfunction, the Spirit had been working flawlessly as usual. Having rebuit the heli, I only made a few adjustments in Spirit to level swash and set pitch, and changed no baseline settings at all, and the heli is rebuilt exactly as before. However, Rescue now works in reverse, as though the Spirit senses the heli as inverted when it is not. Flicking the Rescue switch results in Negative pitch being applied, not Positive. Everything else is just as it should be. I have been through the setup wizard again to make sure that all orientation settings etc are correct, but still no joy. When activating rescue, the negative pitch is applied for my pre-set acro delay, after which the unit tries to invert the heli. If I hold the heli inverted, the unit applies pitch but does not try to turn the heli right side up. It seems as though the rescue function ONLY sees the heli as permanently inverted, ie as though I have input the wrong mounting position, but all other functions are as normal. I wonder if anyone can help?

Can you attach your settings, please?

If you have loaded for example settings from old firmware (1.3 and previous) where it was possible to set negative collective pitch for the rescue, this could cause the problem.
Readjusting it should solve the problem.

Can you verify, if all bars are working correctly in the Diagnostic tab, especially directions? For example collective pitch should be positive there while stick is high.

That was quick reply!! I think I have attached the settings file. Yes all directions are correct for everything.

Thank you.

Could you also please verify, if all servos are at the center position, when you enable Subtrim (tuning) menu?
At the same time, you should see exactly 0° between main blades.

Yes all servos are at centre with 0 pitch, that's really all the setting up I did when repairing the heli.

Well, I would look exactly at the parameters that were modified. Only there should be the problem.
It is easy to overlook something, sometimes even triple verification is not enough to find the issue.

Do you remember which parameters were modified? If just one servo was replaced or repaired, then it should be enough to use just subtrims.
If this was not the case and for example servo reverses were used, then something else could be wrong as well (for example gyro compensations or stick response).

OK thank you for that, I will go through everything again later, and report back. So far as I remember I had to adjust the pitch servo only for centre, as the replacement servo arm was "between splines". No servo was replaced, the breakaway arms all did the job. Servos are Turnigy 306, which are re-badged KST 215. I was wondering if the shock of the crash had caused damage to the unit. Anyway, thank you, and I'll let you know how I get on.

Usually there is no reason which can cause this issue, if everything is configured properly. Even if something in the unit will not work properly, the rescue should work in the correct direction after initialization.
But I believe that the unit is OK. Fortunately there was no case when Spirit unit was damaged in any sense by crash. So I think that this will be only related with the settings.

In the worst case, you can save your settings and do the factory reset. Then set at least basic parameters again and try the rescue. This will show you if something was wrong in your old settings.

Did the factory reset, then re-loaded the settings I sent you. All works as normal :D ! I guess I must have done something else and forgotten or something. Thank you very much for your help
