Hello everyone!
This is my 1st Spirit. All my other helis have BD3SX (Trex600 PRO DFC, Goblin500, Hirobo SDX Nitro).
I placed the Spirit (not Pro) on my newly built Trex700 DFC Gasser and I tried to maiden the bird this morning. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get off the ground because it wanted to tip over every time it was getting light on the skids. There was no apparent vibration that i can consider mechanical.
I tried to reinitialize the unit 3 times and not tilting the heli after initialization but had the same result. All swash movement and rudder movements were ok.
I can see that the swash was correcting when I lift and tilt the heli on all axis (it was just a very small movement though).
Spirit (2.0) settings are mostly default for the trex700 except for the CCPM120 (it is reversed). Gain is at 60% and when I hit rescue, it gives positive pitch on the bench. On the diagnostic tab: All is working as it should be. I checked the log and it said: ""Good Health Message".
I have a DX8 and nothing is reversed except for Gyro. If it is not reversed, its giving me negative values and it is always in Rescue mode. So I reversed it and it is giving the right values. Even the diagnostic page in the spirit software is giving the correct values . In the monitor screen of the DX8, it gives me -60 on gyro when i hit rescue which is on a momentary switch.
Power for servos and spirit is coming from a BEC with its own lipo battery. BEC Tester gave a good result as well.

Any suggestions on what I am missing. :?

There are only two possibilities:

1. Wrong Position or Swashplate settings so that the compensations are not correct (or other basic settings)
2. Extremely high vibrations - can be verified with Spectrum Analysis

I am not sure how you performed the basic settings, but Swashplate settings must be configured to CCPM 120 - not reversed. Trex 700 DFC has CCPM 120° swashplate type, so if you have CCPM 120 (reversed) then this is for sure the problem.
If configured wrongly, then it will always tipover.

But you have to complete the whole wizard. All subtrims, servo parameters, ranges, etc must be configured else it will not fly well.
It must be configured very carefully.

Thanks for the reply ZeXx86,
My mistake, the heli is a Trex 700N DFC converted to gasser. Should it still be CCPM 120 (not reversed)?

I rechecked my settings. 1 major thing I missed. In the General Tab, the position was "Horizontal 0deg" when it should be "Horizontal 180deg". The spirit is mounted in such a way that the pins are towards the nose of the heli. Is it correct (Horizontal 180)? If so, would this be a possible cause of the problem?

Trex 700N has CCPM 120 (reversed) so in this case, reversed option is correct.

Yes, from your description Horizontal 180° is correct.

Hi ZeXx86,
Do you think having set the mounting (Horizontal-0) incorrectly could have given me the problem of tipping over?

I will try to fly the heli again. Hopefully the weather cooperates tom.

Yes, using Horizontal 0 instead of Horizontal 180 is for sure a problem.

But come on, with all the helis you have you should be able to test if the heli responds correctly to TX commands AND compensate correctly without flying it, on the bench!

If it's not the case, then read about it... why to risk flying if you are not 100% sure!

Thanks for the heads-up.
I indeed tested on the bench and all inputs were responding well. The swash movements were very minimal though but I was at the impression that the Spirit behaves as such for this is my first try with the Spirit.
But in any case, thanks for the comment.
